Uhm, wouldn't it make more sense to make max combat 800 rather than 200? If the max combat was 800 instead of 200 all 8 skills pertaining to combat would actually play a role in determining one's true level. Seeing that after the beta update players will be level 4 instead of 3 and that all combat skills only level to 99 should it not make more sense? For example, you will be combat level 4 instead of 3 meaning that you'll need 796 more other levels in order to reach 800 combat and 796 divided by the 8 combat skills equal 99.5 (nearly 99) therefore at least making 800 combat more suitable than 200 at least in my opinion. I, emphasis on "I", would rather prefer this system simply because it includes all aspects of combat instead of just simply excluding certain skills that the new formula will. For example, Prayer :@ . I love Prayer and seeing that it is part of combat I would like for it to stay that way. Furthermore, if certain skills do not apply to the leveling of combat then in what way will the beta be balancing it?
P.S. Why the FREAK is there no abilities for prayer, I mean of all things, PRAYER has no abilities!?! :O .

The EXP cuts from lower level monsters is a load of junk. I personaly kill waterfiends often to obtain charms. I would feel terrible getting half of my effort while I go for 96 summonong. I am more of a laid back player sometimes as well. I believe you should add a thing that would allow players to auto use abilitys so they wont had to deal with the system if they dont want to. I find the system to be hella sluggish compaired to other keybinding styled game like world of warcraft, diablo 2, league of legends, etc. On beta I used my ult dual weilding slash move and it just didnt work. I was stuck there for 4-5 seconds while he beat on me and I couldnt do anything about it. Only god knows what would happen if you atempted combat on a much laggier world... o_O.
Bottom line: I just dont think its ready. It needs a lot of work and you need to really give everyone what they want. At this point. Half my friends say they are quitting on release once this goes live. I dont want to join them at it. But if you dont middle with everyone, mainly people who dont like to sit there and spam abilitys while watchin tv or reading. You might lose those players.

The new way of combat is nice, but i think you should keep rs like it is now, i think the adrenaline bar is confusing and all these extra stuff give me the feeling im playing a whole different game not the Runescape i used to play.

Thanks a ton Jagex, it's heartening to know that you are paying attention to all the feedback. A few suggestions I would make are:
1. Make it so Black dragons cannot attack you with melee from 7 spaces away.
2. The ability to chose whether a weapon is off-hand or not (so if you had two rune crossbows, Dragon Scimitars, etc. You could right-click one and chose to make it an "off-hand" crossbow/sword.)

I think 800 may be just going a little too far. but I do agree that prayer should still play a part in combat as well as hp (or constituition, whichever term you prefer). The only reason I sugessted 500 is because since right now as considered the 5 combat levels. So if they wanted to just keep those 5 then that would make sense. I don't know where you are getting your 8th level though unless you are considering summoning, which that I wouldn't consider. To me the familiars are just like armour and accessories, where they compliment you but don't play a huge part in your combat system.

Special weapons.
i did really like to go do tormented demon but since the beta went up the claws were going down towards 3 mill wich is really nothing compared to the time when it was 30 mill.
Items won't go out of the game.
the big difference between Wildy 2006 and wildy is. items aren't removed from the game anymore since the trade limit has been removed.
in old rs every time a rusher died a dragon claw was removed from the game.
and now everytime a rusher dies the claw stays in the game and then the items wil keep going down.
Saradomin Brew's.
Saradomin brews is another thing were is kinda sad about. since they make alot possible if u can afford it.
a brew drains melee stats and improves defence but also gave lifepoints.
and if indeed the brew wil get likely never used anymore since it doesnt give a profit.
then ice stryke wyrms wil get underrated.
what should happen is that brew heal rate should be reduced from 16% towards 12% then it will be more equal for **ming to get a rocktail.
i hope i have informed about my opinions about the Beta
