Have been feeling really down about the prospect of the Beta, having not enjoyed the experience at all. Had resolved to give up slaying and am rushing to get my Dungeoneering to 120 so I could have the option of not doing combat again except for new content.
However, thanks to the changes already made which are detailed in your post, and the prospect of other changes to ensure Runescape stays unique in a sea of online games, I am a much happier bunny now =)
Could the lady players of Runescape please have smaller hands though? Each time I log into the Beta server those great big ape hands you've given me, the wide arms when I walk from a kill and the skimpiness of the Bandos tassets make me want to run a proverbial mile.
Appreciate the effort you are all putting into the development of the game.

To be honest, I absolutely adore everything within this beta, of course there's room for improvement everywhere, but the one thing I absolutely hated, and was in fact stunned when I first heard about is in this quote:
"XP Rates
We were experimenting with a level cut-off that would encourage you to fight against monsters appropriate to your skill levels. After some feedback we removed this restriction from Slayer tasks, since you don’t get to choose those opponents. After more feedback we decided to remove that level scaling entirely: stronger monsters are still worth more individually but you’ll still earn the full amount from a below-level opponent.
We’ll be keeping an eye on this: we’d still like you to fight things of appropriate level, so that you can feel a progression as the game advances and so that players of different levels aren’t competing for kills. We’ve listened though and we understand that you appreciate the choice. "
But I am indeed grateful that Jagex have listened, thank you Jagex, now I'm finally confident that the Evolution of Combat update is ready, but of course, you can keep on improving it (which is in fact better in my opinion).
If you can't be a pencil to write anyone's happiness, then try to be a nice eraser to remove someone's sadness.

Thanks for the changes you've given us so far Jagex, I'm sure we're all looking forward to what comes next with the Beta.
I agree with the max level being 500, seeing as how some of the monsters we fight are close to, or higher than this, it would be nice to see. This would be made up of course with attack, strength, defense, mage and range levels with a +5 to make 500.
One other thing I would like to see personally is a quicker way to move to different action bars, other than the current up and down arrows that are there now. Possibly a l1l2l3l4l5l box above the bar, or somewhere else that would be easy to get to that is in the line of sight. Say if you have attack abilities in bar 2. and you needed to get to defense abilities that are in box 5, all you would have to do is click on the number. I think this would save time, and keep us from taking our eyes off of the fight as long as the arrows do now. I don't know how feasible this would be, but that's one of the changes I would like to see.

runescape has seen its ups and downs and this beta still has many problems that still need to be resolved. for example chaotics are getting more and more overpowerd when they shouldnt be, you guys are nerfing regular items whitch is not fair for those who do not have 80 dung... like me. You guys are making chaotic kite shiled the same as divine? divine is 300m and people can get chaotics in like a day.. also monsters will be harder for us to kill whitch makes dung longer and harder.. the combat triangle is also weird because if i was using meelee agaisnt a mage obv i would run, why would i fight someone i have no chance in beating? thats just my opinion =/

I find it incredibly encouraging and delightful that the Jagex staff is not only listening to our feedback on this, but also doing their best to balance between what is necessary and what we want. if they've always done that, then so much the better. but what i truly love about the beta is Jagex putting out posts like this, specifically telling us that they've heard, they've listened, and then telling us what they've done about it (or telling us why they can't/won't).
While we may not always agree with their decisions, I'm very proud and pleased with this new direction Jagex is taking with these kinds of informational updates, as well as the amazing work they are putting into the Beta itself. I'm loving the Beta so far, and i cant wait to see the final product :D
