Complaints:
1. Hit splats NEED to be timed. When I swing a sword at someone, I expect a hit splat. I don't want hit splats popping up randomly between attacks because it just makes it too hard to time "abilities". If you were to go attempt a dragon dagger special attack for a KO, you don't want the numbers to pop up when they want to, they need to be accurate in terms of hitsplat per swing.
2.The stuns are quite silly to begin with. For pking, you just promote excessive food eating in a desperate attempt to keep your health up, because once they stun you, good luck eating. They really only need to stun you at 50% health with an ultimate waiting in the works. stun, threshold ability for buffer damage, then meteor strike for 40% health. Where is the variation/skill in that?
3.I find it quite unfortunate that we (the players) have not been appearing to get as much say in this development of Runescape as we could hope for. Many of us have been paying for the privilege of playing with added benefits for years. We chose Runescape because it was fun, it was different, and it was unique. The beta update with abilities is too similar to World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft is a dying game, and I understand why. I played WoW for the free trial, and that is it. It just plain wasn't worth the money. It is dead for a reason. Notice how you have had pretty much the most popular MMORPG for years? It was not because it was a cheaper WoW. It was just a better game period. Remember that please. Special attacks were part of it.
Praise:
1. I really enjoy what you are doing with the graphics. Character models, weapons, armor, how you move, etc. The new character movement is fluid and quite amazing, especially when looked at through a game design POV. Not many games have the fluidity or rhythm Runescape has and it melds together very nicely. Sheathing weapons was also a brilliant idea. I don't enjoy combat anymore, but I appreciate the hard work you have put into it.
Thanks, Osiris

Just played beta with new updates. I have to say the abilities activation speeds from last week made the game much better. The new ability activation is way to slow takes no many game tics between attacks to activate my defensive and passive abilities. Last week it was fine i wish you could put it back that way.

I'm really enjoying the beta. I can't just melee things I used to be able to anymore, which means I have to use a different approach. At the same time, the same thing goes for ranged attacking (and this is fine).
The problem I am seeing though is that weapons are not granting any hit rating whatsoever when I equip them, and it seems to be affecting combat. Last weekend, I was able to hit -far- more often than I am this time around.
(Last weekend, though, I had fought against greater demons and Tzhaar with decent effect, while this weekend I had trouble killing -anything- at all whilst in the Barrows.)

Thanks for actually listening and doing something about the XP rate problem. Initially, I was so depressed after playing the Beta I thought I was going to have to quit Runescape! Gave me a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach, it did. Just wasn't Runescape anymore. But since it's obvious you guys are listening to player concerns, I think I may have hope!
I'm not really that into combat (GASP!), so keeping XP rates the same for lower-level monsters is wonderful. Also happy you're addressing the lifepoints issue. Could never figure out why I always looked as if I were dying after changing armour. And you mentioned you were looking into the cumbersome abilities book, so that's encouraging. I appreciate you always seeking ways to improve the game. Just please don't change it so much that it's no longer Runescape!

Armour issue is simple to resolve. Players life points is always their constitution plus armour. When armour changes and total life points go down ( based on new armour and constitution value ) use the same percentage of current life point value. Example: if you were 40% decreased in life with torva then swith to armadyl your new life point total is 40% of your constitution plus armadyl life point total. If you move upward then you obtain the current value of life points before the change. Example: move from armadyl to torva keeps the current life point value.
Summary: A move upward in total life points keeps the current life point value. A move downward in total life points keeps the same % value.

QUOTE about summoning
"We'll do what we need to make sure it works by the end of the beta, and we look forward to the opportunity for a thorough rework later on."
This is NOT how beta testing works, that's more like alpha. Issues are fixed, then and only then is the game released. :)
That said, I'm excited to go try out the new changes.

"we are determined to make the best game we can" , OLD RUNESCAPE IS THE BEST GAME YOU CAN POSSIBLY MAKE. this statement suggests they are making a whole new game and i hope they do, don't change rs into E.O.C, make a new server or dont implement it at all.

Thank you for listening and making so many terrific modifications to our Beta.
I love the idea of single wildly worlds for pvm free of pk and the spiritual world full of revenants for me to hunt and slay.

I know that you are aware of the lack of higher level monsters in many areas of Gilienor. Additions of new dungeons to these areas can be a plus to a well balance buffet when it comes to monster hunting activities; something I love to do. Yup, additions of new dungeons with higher level monsters with very interesting new drops.
To be honest ores, herbs, seeds, gems and a few coins for eternity at all local areas is like - hello I can get all those when doing my skills at the general areas….
The hunting areas for example, can use an exclusive dungeon (or dungeons) with new higher level monsters with very unique desirable drops. Like new armour and weapons with more damage soaking abilities etc.
In the mean time I will continue on dreaming about the Eastern Lands, the Crystal City and the Digisite new adventures... ^_^
From my heart to your heart team Jagex:
Trillions of Kudos for all the hard, long and extra working hours you are investing in the Beta to keep us all in high spirits.

I am a very poor runescape player, and i am not good at merching or anything like that. All since i started subscribing to members i have striven towards dragon claws.
And then the glorious day when i finally get the claws, i read this update. It says claws will be useless, and all special attacks will be removed. Then the claws go down and i end up loosing half of the money i spent. That is really depressing. Not funny. If you are going to remove the claws special, shouldn't you at least make the claws unique in another way?
My bumper sticker says *bump*.

The only main thing I don't really like about beta is that the max combat level is now undervalued. Before getting 138 (or 126 way back) was an achievement and not everybody had it but now the majority of players will be near 200 combat. I can't really think of a solution for that though.
