"for 15 years and the community of Asian players virtually non existence"

--

You know why, right?

Jagex IP banned China.

If a company IN CHINA owns jagex.. I'd bet dollars to donuts that that IP ban would be lifted in a New York minute.

Kids in China been going through IP bans since they made IP bans..... Same goes for Adults rofl How you think they get on a lot of the social media sites ect or what or stream movies or even do anything they want on the internet been a constant cat and mouse game with the government always trying to catch up with the people always finding ways to bypass.

I can probably think of about 3 ways you can circumvent it or do anything right now probably those methods are just been deployed by some users on this forum right now anyways but come on IP bans, geo restriction anything like that takes about 5 minutes of homework for a work around.

You think about it where all the gold farmers that been mentioned a million times over the 15 years coming from..... But yeah not all are from China but a lot are so clearly this IP ban is been circumvented.

We should be careful.

If we say anything bad about "china" we could be kidnapped, tortured, killed and forced to

admit to crimes against the "chinese gov" on tv and I'm not joking.

Our information could very well be used against "us" in the future too.

I wouldn't like my cc and other information sold or used against me.

Might probably be true in China can't really comment haven't lived there but that why they have a massive China wall on the front end of whatever web access they have is to filter those messages inside of China. Unless you are directly and intentionally working against the Chinese government they wouldn't care what you say or do since they got enough problems with the real threats from within and out to deal with.

I wouldn't be so scared plus it's a lot of effort to send anyone to where you live and put you on a plane for a few comments you said that they could probably clearly see as no threat to them in even the least to be sending out any kind of asset after anyone that just playing a game....

Night, your melodrama is best saved for class.. sheesh.

@hot zone

Of course there's always been work arounds. However, not everybody has interest in breaking the rules.

You tried to claim that there was no interest in the Asian market (in runescape) and you used a lack of those players as your supporting evidence.

I simply pointed out that there is a very valid reason for the lack of players and that it would immediately be removed as a barrier to those players once a company in China takes control of jagex.

It really had nothing to do with China or it's players for the IP ban was directly intended towards the gold farmers working all around China.... Jagex run millions of IP sweeps a year and ban hundreds of bot per day.

If they thought hey not really any players from China and just decided to just blocked the whole country to combat the fight against bots it probably what they did I am not going to troll around a million pages to find that data rather be playing the game right now.

Jagex is taking a strong stance against botting and it wasn't the result of them been Chinese and were IP banning it's because of what they found in bot detection sweeps. What going to set off that detection software is if your IP is bouncing all over the world day to day as no one in the world really goes from France, China, America, Russia ect in a matter of a week your account going to be freeze until someone look into why your flying all over the world and still got time to play 24 hours a day.

"RS is by no mean accessible by a wide variety of the Chinese population because of the high price in membership"

--

I also want to point out that the vast majority of games in China are NOT membership based. They are free to play with a full cash shop for buying the things you want that are not free.

So the average income of the average person in China (that you seem to claim would prevent their interest or accessibility) might end up having absolutely nothing to do with anything (if the game ends up f2p with the typical pay to win model being used).

The current jagex stance on bots and gold farmers could quickly change with a Chinese company at the wheel. It also has absolutely nothing to do with the acquisition of jagex.

So a brand new account going off the top of my head to profitability and able to afford to pay membership through bonds correct me if I'm wrong going to take at least 1-3 months to gain the required skill to make it after leveling depending on how much he/she got time to play which is going to be 14 days for 9-11m.

I don't really see how a complete newbie would convert to members in the first place as the game been out IP ban free for a lot of those years. To me the player base would not choose RS how it's built atm that just me I don't see any right now or have seen a large number of them that isn't working and not playing the game that is.

Stopped reading right there. You aren't even reading what I type.

NO MEMBERSHIP COSTS INVOLVED.

FREE TO PLAY GAMES with cash shops. That IS how games in China currently operate.

I know how they operate I said that like an hour ago >****; I've played on some of them even it's filled with bots and gold farmers just the way they love it.

Was just stating that the way the game currently is with strong stance against that practice and how it's currently structured would not be tempting for the everyday people of China.
