Here's another blog I've already known but some might find interesting:

"Foreign Business In China. Can** Live With ‘Em, Can** Live Without ‘Em.

In one of my college history courses, my professor was big on emphasizing how much China’s mistrust and dislike of foreigners had influenced it. This professor saw the Great Wall as THE symbol of China’s attitudes towards foreigners and he ascribed virtually everything China did to its desire to keep its distance from foreigners. Though I have never been a fan of *one motive” analysis, I do think it would be naive to believe China’s highly charged history with foreigners does not continue to influence it today."

If Jagex is sold to Shandong Hongda the whole company will effectively be moved from England! The Chinese are well known to not trust Western people and their influences and they will never invest $300m into buying a company they will own outright and leave it for Westerners to run, it's almost unthinkable!

RE: 46.6

"I haven't seen any press releases from Shangdon Hongda Mining that states they have made an acquisition, only that they are discussing a deal. It was the Financial Times that originally stated that the company had already been sold, most likely due to poor translation from Chinese."

Shandong Hongda Mining to acquire Jagex

Date: 15 Mar 2016

Shandong Hongda Mining Co Ltd announced on Monday that Shanghai Hongtou Network Technology Co has signed a Share Purchase Agreement with all shareholders of the UK gaming company Jagex Ltd to acquire a 100% stake in the latter for up to $300m in cash.

Shandong Hongda hopes this acquisition will diversify its business operations and bolster its profitability. This investment is expected to bring Shandong Hongda a RMB50m (*7.7m) return on investment.

Jagex Ltd is UK’s biggest game developer and distributor and reported a net profit of £23.7m in 2015. The most popular game developed by Jagex, RuneScape, holds the Guinness World Record for “biggest multi-player online role playing game”, and has generated *725m in revenue over the past ten years.
It was mis-translated. Try reading the original chinese report.

I have seen nothing that states the deal has been finalized. Even if a stock purchase agreement is signed, they still need to pay the down payment before April 30th, otherwise the agreement can be terminated.

I've not once stated that it's been sold already.

I think people are being too negative. I look forward to the new owners inspiring some long overdue mining and smithing updates.

Nice fear-mongering and discrimination. However, it's simply not true.

In the event that these negotiations are successful we do not foresee there to be any changes in how we develop and operate the games, and
we will remain a Cambridge and UK based developer
