Hmm... Let's see..

New combat came out - "Can we have the old style back please?" - Jagex = "No chance" ---We now have legacy.

"We want an '07 version of RS"- Jagex = "NOT POSSIBLE, we just don't have the servers anymore. We now have a pathetic version of osrs.

"Can we buy RS gold?"- Jagex= NO! Your account will be banned! We can now buy gold.

I could go on but it's just not worth the research because us long time players know all of the "facts" you've posted on the first page will be different to what we'll have in game.

I'll continue to play and pay for members via bonds bought ingame with skilling (NOT paying real money) because I know that this is the start of the end.
ooo ooo you forgot one "We will not be making anymore holiday item tradable, it's detrimental to the economy and the game." said by the fat man himself mod mark. when jagex says they're not going to do something take that as a hint that it most likely will happen.
most of the things on this thread arent in jagex's control. jagex has had to do what investors tell it to for over 5 years.
jmods say they dont want *2* stuff, then a few years later ivp (who own 55% of jagex) tell them to add *2* stuff, what can jagex do?

Exactly my point. We can't rely on what we're being told as the current investors have forced changes so who's to say the potential new investors won't do the same...

As F2P, I guess we have no say in this as we aren't a paying member thus not holder of any share in RuneScape?

As a long time player and 9yrs worth of membership.. we don't have a say either I'm afraid.
Of course you don't have any say. Why would you? O_o

If this is referring to my reply then take a minute to realise I'm not asking for a say.

It's more of a general question, as I see a number of people saying talking about not having a say in the matter, as if for some convoluted reason they feel as if they should have a say in the way a company conducts it's business simply because they are a customer.

I agree, of course we don't have a say but I can understand that a lot of these players are youngsters and wouldn't understand the way businesses are ran.

I just hope the deal doesn't go ahead, finger's crossed.

It is worth noting (as many people seem confused or surprised that a mining company would be interested in Jagex), the deal isn't with the mining company alone, the mining company would be going in jointly with an investment firm for the deal.

Actually, in business, there is a case to be made for costumers having a say. This is very true of any customer who has used an instrument to pay for the game that has their personal information on it.

While it is true that no one customer has a right to a say in a company's sale to another company, customers do collectively matter and any good businessman knows that customer sentiment is just as important during a sale then profit projections.

Where the sale of this company may expose people's personal information to China is concerned, yes, every individual customer matters.

I doubt if any of the investors in Jagex have ever been given personal customer information, and I wouldn't expect that to change.

It's funny that you even mention personal information as the USA has the second highest rate of identity theft in the world (Mexico is #1). China is farther down the list (rated #5).Statistically speaking, your personal information should be safer in if the deal goes through, as the majority of the other investors are USA based.
