Can you imagine it if this business deal went through?

We'd have the next Runefest held inside of an authentic chinese coal mine. Cool!

I know you're joking, but jagex did say they will stay in the UK
Would be kinda cool to tour a mine as a special runefest addon for a limited amount of people. Get some real life mining gains.

And that makes it an irrefutable fact because Jagex would be holding more shares than the company thats paying for 100% share acquisition. Makes total sense.

I'll be very interested to see how this merger goes, and even more interested to see the results if and when it reaches completion.

I hope that if the merger is finalized, the greater resources that Jagex will then have access to (the assets of both companies at its disposal) will allow it to hire more develops to bring more content to the game and improve old content. They could also hire more community support JMods to help with account and technical issues (possibly even through a chat or phone support system), and more community management mods to interact with the players.

More money could also then be spent on advertisement to bring new players to the game.

I look forward to seeing what happens!

You have stated that you value community input and that it is a core aspect of success for Jagex?
Then why not put the acquisition to a poll? Ingame just like for any other major game update and give 3 options, For, Against, Uncaring

Shareholders will sell their shares if the price high enough, so the results of any poll made by Jagex employees will not matter to them.

However, the poll may change the investor's decision if it could convince them that players will leave after the acquisition (as less players mean less profit). Not sure if Jagex is willing to do this though

Jagex when you make this investment you WILL need to pay back. If you DON'T do so, you will have to add more microtransactions or increase membership fees, which the community does NOT approve.

If this company gets greedy, it WILL destroy the game. You should take a look at most eastern games: Pay. To. Win. This goes against the original Jagex policy that real life fortune should NOT dictate your in game status. Already we have seen some borderline actions that bend this rule, and the economy in eastern countries is very, VERY greedy.

Please Jagex, even if you do get a nice surge to keep the game on its feet with good updates, quality content and hours upon hours more worth to do in the game, the long term effects WILL bite you back in the arse. I'm not saying don't go through with it, but at least make sure that this will not implement more pay to win factors. We've already established a majority of the bots in game were for gold farming companies that were found within Eurasia, and if that's not a representative of what this company might lead jagex to do, I don't know what is.

But Jagex isn't the one making the investment. It is another company making an investment in them.

I think Jagex will pitch to keep RS3 as it is and make a
reboot
version of Runecape for Asia separately to keep their new Chinese masters happy. No-one asked if Jagex is planning on a reboot of the game. People were asking if Jagex would make separate Asian servers, yet Mod Pips brought up the keyword "
reboot
" in his post at the end.

Selling to a company that does not have any past experience with MMOR** such as runescape seems a bit worrying, even if the company has the best intentions for the longterm health of the game.
I really hope this will be "business as usual" as you said, but I'm not having high expectation considering the introduction of MTX with previous shareholders.
