No they haven't. What has happened is players blame ALL losses on EoC. Which ignore the anti bot programs like Bot Watch which went online around the same time. Players tend to point out anti bot updates because players are.....Honestly I'm not sure if ignorant or stupid of how heavily and unbelievably botted the game was before. The wilderness was removed because they couldn't handle the botting and gold farming.
My statement holds true. Assuming for the sake of argument there are 100,000 total players on the game. Also assuming your friend list is maxed out at 400. If all those players were to leave that would only be 0.4% of total player base. So that is ultimately an insignificant portion of the player base.
My god you really don't think before typing, but okay, if you really wanna bring fake math examples to try and make a point then multiply my friend list of "400" by the amount of players that can relate to the same issue.
We lost a lot of real players, and you know what's the worse?, there are still bots and auto-typers spamming around Runescape, so now we have a low player base and there's still bots... awesome?, I wonder how it would look like without bots nowadays... 100 players per world?
Actually you missed my point. I expanded your friend list to the maximum possible to make a point. Players like to point out that their friend lists shrunk. As if their list represents the vast majority of players. The logic that they lost 15 friends which must mean that 90% of players or should I say accounts that left were because players didn't like EoC. Specifically because their friend list reduced so much.
It is an impossibility to remove all bots from the game. The concept of doing so ranks right up there with world peace and removal of all poverty and sickness in the world. How ever compared it to before the game has them under relative control. I'm a big entropy fan.
All subtlety and nuance of a napalm enema
