If people make fake accounts on third party sites you can report them to Jagex and they will actively have them removed by contacting the host and informing them of the matter. This isn't the place to post about it.

yep, im eager to see what a new development company can do, I am not satisfied with the slow rate of development jagex offers.

If they don't lock it down (similar to other games in China) I, too, would be curious to see what differences they might make.

I'm not opposed to pay to win models (the way some seem to be) as I find all the other games I play are such models.

With Andrew having been gone since 2010, I am curious as to what somebody else could do with the game (and I haven't been impressed thus far, for the most part, with all the.. stuff (to keep it nice) that MMG was responsible for under Insight's direction).

Hopefully, we'll learn more as April ends.

I don't think there's any worry with Jagex being moved out of Cambridge. It would be a completely unnecessary move that would cost far more than its worth.

They might open up support offices, but all development for Runescape will happen in the place its at now.

Why would you think that?

It stands to reason that there are people in China, or Asia, who are as equally qualified and talented (possibly more so) as those currently employed by Jagex. There's a very large population to pick and choose the best from.

Given the land areas involved I don't doubt a region could be located which offers the potential to build, or rent, office space at a cheaper rate/cost than the scandalously high overheads in England.

Have you researched the relative costs between paying employees in England in comparison to equally qualified staff in China/Asia? The comparison of local taxes, such as Corporation Tax between England and elsewhere? And so forth.

In the long term it is entirely possible that it would be cost effective to shut down the Cambridge offices and relocate them elsewhere.

It's mere speculation, again, to state as if it were a fact that the centre of operations will remain the same.

There's many reasons.

Firstly, we would hope that the investors, all 22 of them would most likely agree that as part of the deal the current employees should not be sacked. Some of the shareholders worked with these people.

Secondly, its legally difficult to buy a company and then ship it overseas. Governments tend to not like successful business being taken out of their country.

Thirdly, all of Jagex software isn't inherently known by programmers. Its mostly in house code which is really only understandable by Jagex employees. That's not to say that others cant learn it, but they would be learning from the bottom. Huge costs would ensue.

It is of these reasons, and possibly more that make the idea of Jagex being moved incredibly unlikely.
