Think we could collectively raise $300m on Patreon to buy Runescape or something??? Runescape = Fan owned and maintained. This game cannot end up in the hands of the Chinese (No offence, but their videogames all suck). There must be something we can do! This is a death sentence!

Runescape is already literally the laughing stock of the MMO world. It's public image would never heal after if becomes known as "That MMOR** that's owned by the Chinese Oil company?", say goodbye to any future players.

I could see the community getting 100x worse. Rampant gambling, swearing, botting, runaway inflation, overpopulation, glitchyness and lag, gold dealing, clan wars, mafia activity, etc Runescape will be a toxic wasteland.

I'm not rich irl but RS is the game I love the most and I like your idea. I'd be among the first to donate to keep RS out of the hand of a mining company.

But would they insist on more profits?

Like, the only reason they are buying runescape is because its consistently successful.
This strengthens their portfolio if it stays that way.

If they are not from the gaming industry, wont this mean they will leave it up to people who have experience, such as the current Jagex staff?

So you can deduce that thy might be buying the company, but will be more of a silent partner. This could be a great change for runescape.

Also, racism should never be said on these forums.

RuneScape is the only videogame I like, and I like it a lot. Where shall I go if it is sold ?

Is Zibo Hongda the CEO of Shandong Hongda Mining Co Ltd? The Zibo Mining Industry Co. held 48.5% of the shares in the Shandong Hongda Mining Co. until this past December when they sold off all but 2.2% of the stake in the company.

Zibo is a city in the Shandong province.

This is extremely disappointing news to hear.
I have been playing this game 12 years over many different accounts.

If you go through with this, Runescape will be destroyed, and for most of your player-base, this is our Child hood game!
(Guessing here so don't quote me)

One of the most successful and well-known MMOR**'s will be ruined.. Please do not do this!
