Honestly, I'd hate to see this transaction to go through myself as well.
Especially being a devoted player to this game for the past 12 years I've seen this game have many ups and many many downs; hence, I've gone over to old school RuneScape because I can actually enjoy the previous and actual fun ways RuneScape was played back in the days.
After seeing that this is a dying company that they have taken interest in, I don't quite understand their reasoning on selling the company other than 300M USD which is one pretty penny. So, I hope they don't get caught up in the highlights of the monetary amount rather than the joys they've brought to the community because as I stated earlier if it's a money issue I'm sure there are other options they could look into or growing up always remembering good things come to those who wait. For instance, I worked for a hospital that was struggling for a few months financially and was up in arms about selling the hospital to another large for profit facility; however, they stuck it out and made changes without selling the company & are still managing strong.
Ultimately, I'd just really hate to see this game let alone OSRS go away or become something I don't want it to become kind of how like RS3 become as it's really been a fun experience for myself growing up and I've never been part of an actual fun gaming community that actually interacts with one another and isn't as aggressive as others like League of Legends. Also, don't get me wrong RS3 / EoC was a fun experience for awhile but after constant update after update and just making the game too easy to actually train a skill, was the biggest turn off for me as I really worked hard for any 99 I had ever achieved in game, let alone the items I acquired rather than from some silly spinning wheel or 100's of daily random events.
So, this time around I really hope they listen to their community for once as I hate for something to happen to such a great game.
