IVP bought Jagex in early 2012 right? Well, what happened after 2012? Oh yeah, loads of players quit and MTX started...
they bought jagex in 2005, not 2012
Correct, but what they probably meant was that IVP gained the majority share just before MTX were introduced.
They gained majority share holder in 2010
Incorrect.
By majority I mean 50%+.
Enough to, for the mostpart, pro actively manage the business with less consent needed from other stakeholders. It was 2011 when IVP secured a 55% stake in the company (when their previous share was only 35%.)
******* ******* ******** is a venture capital firm that invested in Jagex Ltd. in October 2005[2], and in December 2010 increased their investment as The Raine Group and Spectrum Equity Investors made initial investments.
As part of a growth investment, Insight increased its investment to 55.45% as Raine and Spectrum joined. In a press release, Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard said "Insight has been part of the Jagex family for a number of years and it has been a real pleasure to serve alongside them on the Jagex board." Tedder, Andrew Gower and Paul Gower left the board of directors as representatives from Raine and Spectrum joined.
I'm a big entropy fan.
All subtlety and nuance of a napalm enema
