The company trying to acquire Jagex is losing money, they must have seen how many microtransactions Jagex have added to RuneScape thinking it will bail them out!

All seriousness though, if this does go through then I hope all the mergers and acquisitions the company is trying to make work out, otherwise RuneScape will be shut down. :(

Losses don't necessarily mean bad. The losses have to be taken in context of other financial figures.

You work in PR, don't you?

Looks like we're ******, fellas. It was a good run.
Good 'ol Rod is gunna sell to the Chinese and this game will be ripe with MTX

I'm thinking the game might end up being a FULL FREE MIUM GAME.

To even progress to the next screen, you'll have to buy credits.

To play another hour, you'll need credits.

It will be "Deer-Hunter 2016-scape". Look up and try that game, that's how bad free**um games can get. Without paying, you can't kill the next animals in that game.
Might want to calm down on the posting there mate, it's gonna cost you $5 to make a post on forums in future Lmao

Probably been asked in the previous comments, but, is this a transfer of ownership for the company from private party to private party? If so i would guess that the only thing that would mean is that Jagex will continue to look towards profitability and that being a strong focus (private firms always strive for high profitability)

Secondly, is there any feasibility for Jagex to take themselves private again and out of the control of private equity.

Thanks

If only we could some how harness pointless speculation into a form of energy. This thread alone could power China for a day.

This discussion is far from pointless. There are very real, possibly very bad outcomes for the game (both RS3 and OSRS) if Jagex is acquired by a Chinese company.

Take everything with a grain of salt, obviously, since Jagex has issued no further statement on this whole situation. Still, it's not out of the question to worry. Just look at the state of MMO games in Asia for evidence of how greedy the owners of such games can get.

Maple Story. Need I say more?

People need to get their head out of the clouds tbh.

If you think RS3 is bad now with MTX, you might want to quit the minute this acquisition goes through because RS3 MTX is extremely tame compared to what it will be.
