communism is bad ok.

You're getting off-topic and no, communism is not bad. It's a perfect system for perfect people that could live without government. We're not perfect so it got abused to the point it is now said by people that communists are the devil themselves.

As for the acquisition... Please, think about us and don't do a decision that could kill off RuneScape because of enormous MXT and bot count. I believe the team that's working on negotiations will do the best for us all.

In the end:
We're scared.
We're worried.
We have 0 information on what the plans are.
We are all addicted to the game.
We know some of what's happened with other companies in the industry.

For all we know, this is just a company trying to use JAGEX as a lotto ticket but they have no intention of doing anything other than throw money at the devs and say "do your thing, just make us money".
Jagex's accountability is just that: make money.

The bad news is what happens if Mod Rod's team doesn't meet expectations, or worse?

Odds are, then yes, we get to see a new management team.
I don't care for Jagex's financial decisions so long as I can expect the same creative quality and treatment of Runescape's customers, which is what we're all concerned about. I hope that this iron ore and mining company will allow Jagex at least 80% creative and customer care liberty on decisions that matter the most.

Quite true.

The other prob: Jagex can't just be "Runescape" .......

Blizzard is more than World of Warcraft.
Bioware is more than Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

Jagex has been around since 1999, but it hasn't had much success outside of the "Runescape" brand.

Interesting!

Saw this on Financial Times earlier and it totally grabbed my attention!

If this goes through, I wonder which company will handle the acquisition between a big 4 firm or a more strategic consultancy firm. Good luck with the negotiations.

I'll be keeping a close eye on this!

MTX started before EOC was even announced.
I actually knew of some players who bailed early on because they "knew what was coming" when SOF was still just free spins.
A number of other players, like you said, once EoC was announced, in beta, or into release ... yeah ... it was the straw that broke the camel's back. but by then they were getting frustrated with the MTX anyways.
