I feel stupid and like I miss be missing something huge here, because I can't see how this has any affect on gold farming whatsoever?

Gold is so cheap these days, at less than 50 cents/million GP last time I heard. And the only people buying these bonds will most likely be the SAME crowd who was previously buying spins or items off Soloman's Store.

For the remaining players who might want to purchase bonds with RS*P, it will still be worthwhile to buy gold cheap and use that gold in-game to purchase bonds with.

Am I missing something here? Perhaps I do not fully understand.

I'm still getting used to the idea and I'm trying to understand this well, but it looks a very cool system, wow :) !

However.. now you only can purchase bonds with master/visa or paypal, will the other payable systems will be available too in the future (f.e. paysafecard) :) ? That would be awesome!

This is going to be an interesting experiment that will either work beautifully or fail spectacularly. As this is quite new, and I cannot think of another game where this sort of thing has been implemented (if someone knows of one, please point me in that direction; I'd like to have some sort of barometer on which to base a critical analysis), I will reamain measured and reserved on this until more data becomes available.

In the interim, one possible side effect does raise a small bit of concern with me. Hypothetically speaking (because I know how much you guys love these types of questions), what's to stop goldfarmers from going all-in and flooding the markets (be it through sale or just giving away) with their stock of gold purely out of spite? One last (or continuing, depending on how aggrieved they may be) hurrah, if you will. One law of the land that I've come to understand through the years is that if you attempt to take away the means by which someone earns their living, you should be prepared for that person (or persons) to react desperately and, often, unexpectedly.

Food for thought.

EVE online does this.

we all have to understand that there will always be bots as long as there is a game and its not just rs...any game u get on there are bots and gold (or whatever the currency name is for that game) and its never going to end. watching that video i started thinking back over the years on and off playing Jagex has always been anti rwt....its kinda got me in the what the heck feeling. although its not all bad i do like that we will be able to use in-game gold for membership which is something that has been needed for a while if u ask me....cant wait to see how this all plays out

So the rich in real life can get rich in game by buying these and trading them for in-game wealth...How does this help those of us unable to purchase these yet also have a hard time acquiring in game wealth. I dont get much play time and as such its hard to obtain gp, making the cost of most high lvl gear too high to afford. I also cant afford to buy these bonds due to student debt. How does this help me? It doesnt, I will still have to obtain large amounts of gp for the higher lvl gear and I wont have it easy like those who have easy access to "mommys credit card".

Well done Jagex, introduce another method for the rich to buy their gear and party hats for real world currency. The Rich get richer and the poor get screwed.

I really hope you see the error in this, those of us unable to buy these will just have a harder time playing the game now. Currently the only thing holding me to the game is my clan and community. If that goes out the window I might just leave...again.
