So this is your way of saying your game is basically screwed, huh Mod Mark and Jagex? Or is your game is almost completely screwed up and and you just don't want to admit you have a problem with giving us players what we want!?

Just look at some of my ideas! Wall Lamps for Construction! Lightning Spells and Runes! No More Wilderness Penguins! None of these will probably end up getting implemented. And of course, there are all the other player-made and tailored ideas in the New Game Content forum, which are going to waste.

The Bonds idea seems like a good idea, but I highly and sincerely doubt implementing a system like this will put an end to gold farmers.

Burn in Hell, Mod Mark!! -_-

You peer into a Chapel of Zamorak, which appears to be abandoned. Before you can close the doors again, a Revenant Chaos-Bringer flies at you and slays you instantly with a bolt of Shadow Lightning. Oh dear! You are dead!

Failed attempt obviously decided to be acted upon without any research what-so-ever. Need I point out d3? Real money auction house system, basically what you're not implementing and look... they still have gold farmers.

Not only are you not defeating them, but you're not screwed runescape to condemnation. The economy will crash as players start throwing real money into the game to have valuable items, and those valuable items will crash and become worthless because everyone owns them.

There will now no longer be a need to do any bosses for gear, there will be nothing special to achieving max cape, a 99? who cares it only cost me $20...

You don't think it will end gold farming because you don't have a brain, give the idea some thought....Really think about the effects of this...

These bonds won't add any money to the game, but the Goldfarmers didn't add that much either. They got their cash by doing things like cutting Yews or killing Dragons, which for the most part doesn't add any money directly to the game. I have no love for the Goldfarming bots, but they make them out to be worse than they are. (Besides taking up skilling and killing spots, and picking up a few coins dropped from the enemies killed).

The SoF adds more money daily than the Goldfarmers do, and they haven't said a peep about that.

But I have no problem with what Jagex has done here, making your in-game wealth actually make the gameplay potentially better, allowing people who don't have much disposable income IRL to buy a few weeks of membership, after a while of money making in F2P. It allows people to get items they always wanted from the SGS, without having to pay money, it allows people to win the special items on the SoF without having to pay.

A great move by Jagex in my opinion.

Just time to remove all cash and Convert to Coin options from the SoF. Replace cash bags with resource bags, give something like the market prices' worth of maple logs instead of blatant money. Some things that sell easily.

Many look at the Bonds as another RWT attempt by Jagex, which in a way it is, just in a roundabout way, that requires demand by the playerbase, but it makes the game better for the people, like me, with less disposable income, but the skills in game to make money.

If you're so good at finding out who's buying GP from the bots, why don't you just ban their customers?

That way you get rid of the cheaters and also removes the market for RWT.

yeah why not do this?

Because of the loss in revenue, Jagex needs to pay its employees.

Not only that, but I'm sure they don't take pleasure in the deletion of accounts which have had lots of peoples time put into, even if they did cheat.

Even if they did take that drastic motion, there will always be new people willing to risk their accounts for in-game gp.

People will cheat when they get the wink-wink nod-nod as far as rule enforcement goes. But once they enforce a rule it has a dramatic effect. Proof, took less than two week for the gamblers to disappear once they made it against the rules and enforced it. All of the new players the last 3 years came into an environment where cheating was tolerated so they assumed it was ok.

I became suspicious of this update by the way it's been introduced so oddly with phrases such as "heart of the game" and no surprise it's an additional micro transaction being brought into the game.

I also have a feeling that the "40-50% of players are buying gold" is a wildly overstated figure that has little evidence to support it. I just hope the same isn't true for the bot banning figures.

Additionally I'm curious how exactly bonds will stop ddosing and general hacking. If people want to download a bot or whatever at the risk of their account I cannot see why bonds being available to purchase would make them change their mind.

I'd like to think this is indeed just an attack on RWT but I have sever doubts.

It's also about security for the players. They are no longer risking their information going to a gold farming site. And... yeah sure, money might be easier for some to get now, but grinding out the skill is still a feat. No research lol Do you own a business kid? lol
