In response to a couple of your points. No one is going to be able to take away from what you have achieved within the game... (removed for space, see page 13)
... seen all of the wealth held by goldfarmers dumped into the economy overnight.
I realize I am responding to an old post, but it kind of irks me.
I intend no disrespect when I say this, but you addressed the wrong points. The issue isn't that someone else is taking away my achievements, rather that someone else is gaining the same achievements I have with much, much less effort. As for this being a critical implement to the game, I only ask how Runescape survived before them if they're so critical.
As for the bonds themselves, I'm not entirely against bonds. I personally think they're a good idea, but I really don't see how this can eliminate gold farmers altogether. From the gold advertisers that have spammed me in-game, prices for gold from illegal sites are approximately $1 for 3m. The value ratio of bonds in-game right now is $5 for a steadily decreasing 6.5m. While this does provide an opportunity for legitimate players such as myself to easily gain in-game money, should one consider to use real-world money to buy gold, ignoring risk of a ban, the gold-selling sites still offer the best prices. If someone was willing to break the rules to do such a thing before, I don't see how this price would stop them. Perhaps if the G.E. price for a bond was locked at its starting price of 15m, then it could at least compete with gold sellers, but as things stand, I do not believe this will eliminate them at all.
Look into your soul. What color does it show? Is it pure and benevolent, intentions white as snow?
Is it evil and corrupt, the blackest, meanest foe? Or are you like me, and gray is all you know?
