I have never RWT or tried to buy levels, it defeats the purpose of the game. There are many out there that do buy their levels in game and even with RWT; call me old school but by the sweat of my brow and strength of my arm I have gained my levels, well only virtually not exactly taxing clicking a mouse but the thought is the same.

What Jagex have introduced is a way for people to spend their actual money in buying resources and thus buying levels rather than working at them. Mod MMG founded Jagex on the principal that all were equal and only in game effort was reflected in in game wealth and levels, so for Jagex to introduce this and Mod MMG to endorse it is the height in hypocrisy!

But it will make more money for Jagex and help them pander to the exact people that they set out to keep out of the game.

So Mod MMG why have you sold out?

Mod MMG founded Jagex...

Let me just stop you there. Before you go on about experience and the "old school", you should know that it was the Gower brothers (Andrew and Paul Gower) that founded Jagex, not Mark Gerhard. You can place the blame of the downfall of Runescape on the current development team, not on the founders who knew exactly what they set out to accomplish with this game and who held things together adequately during the early years.

The problem here is that Runescape is a relic of the past that's been forced to outlive its worth. The golden age has long since passed, evident by the demand for the return of '07 Runescape and Jagex's exuberance to agree only now that there has been a financial strain put on them by the current and potential gaming market.

The merciful thing to do, much like in the case of an ailing pet, is to let go.

People get stuck on the wrong issue. The debate of RWT or not is irrelevant. It is the issue of buying your way to success in Runescape. SoF, though bad, is chance. Bonds are definite Cash to GP.

In my eyes, Jagex has become what they so desperately wanted to get rid of.

i hope you understand that buying membership is an indirect way of buying success. it may not be significant depending on your opinion. one with high skills can just buy members for 1-3months and basically win success provided he knows what he's doing, which is highly likely. i'm not trying to oppose you, i understand the issue, but i'd prefer we all know this fact. membership may be indirect, but its still pay to win regardless.

What is with this childish approach to this thread? You're not providing a game to three year olds.

Hi my name is Jake and I hate bonds, Eoc, SoF and SGS, I think Jagex is biased, out for money nothing more, arrogant, ignorant and refuses to see the problems they create. There post my opinion with all the other oh-so-praising opinions in your thread.

Don't go around calling people ignorant like that, you're the ignorant one in this case. I really don't like eoc, nor sof, nor sgs (bonds are kinda 'kay, see my previous post) but hell... They're trying to keep a game alive with thousands of players. How many other games (as big/succesful as RS) have cash shops etc.? Exactly. About all of them. It's just normal they'd make something alike, but people like yourself calling others ignorant for not being to your likings can't see simple things as that. Disgusting...

Do you even understand the meaning of the word ignorant? Just saying "no you" doesn't get a better response out of me I'm afraid.

The thing is.Bonds wont stop gold farming. The only thing it effectively does is create real world trade.I'm not sure that will do any thing but make it worse in fact.the bot buster kinda helps some.I dunno I could effective;y buy my membership fairly easy I suppose. Not sure that's a good thing either but w/e.

All I can say is if you do not like it.Then don't use it.If it is not used.then it goes away.As long as people are willing to spin that wheel or buy an outfit or buy a bond. Then it will stay.It will stay because they make money off it.Sure that's their main objective here,It is a business.

I never thought i would see some thing like this.I always thought if you don't like playing the game then chose another.I never understood why some one would want to buy success in the game.I guess if buying it gives ya the same feeling as earning it then ok.I can't agree.I enjoyed playing my accounts. :)

How many bonds can I get for 200m? :P

That's it, guys. It's over. Jagex has given into RWT. We were told long ago RWT would never be implemented. Guess what happened? This was added. I've been a member since farming came out. I bought the gold membership for this year. Next year I won't be renewing.

I'm not rich in real life. I don't have a lot of money. It's not fair that someone has tons of money or rich parents can buy success in the game is ludicrous. This game has no value now. I remember when we had to work for our money, and it was hard. Gone are those days, now.

The idea that you're going to fight fire with fire is ridiculous. Going against your word completely annihilates your loyalty with your other members. I was for the EoC, I was for everything, but this draws the line.
Check out my suggestion for a Tears of Guthix Sequel

its a shame it had to come to this but i cant see no other way to to really deal a vicious blow to the chinese sweat shops profiting off of us lazy westerners. i dont believe for one minute that its gonna stop them completely however theyre reeling in pain right now and the flood gate is almost closed. to those condemning jagex sure they may very well care about the community but guess what (and you shouldnt be offended by this) they care about feeding and clothing their families more and if this is the only way they can see to keep the money coming in then so be it, if runescape fails theyll need to get another job and thats a very daunting task in the uk right now, ive been unemployed for a month and its hard to find work, very hard.

I believe the "childish approach to this thread" line was aimed at Jagex. They have been "dumbing down" this game for years now making it easier and easier as if we couldn't understand how to play it already as it used to be. His post continues on to say "You're (Jagex) not providing a game to three year olds", further confirming my suspicions that the first line is geared towards Jagex.

Hope that helps clear things up and hope I didn't detract from Jake's initially intended message.
