And did he really say "God Bless you" at the end? I'm not knocking religion or God in any way, but everyone knows that saying those words is a classless way to get a majority of people to automatically sympathize with a cause.

Indeed, that's exactly what the majority of the homeless people in my city say when you walk right by them.

Wow Jagex, way to go back on the founding father's ideals. Something about a players real life wealth shouldn't affect their in-game experience? Did we forget that one? This is a joke. It won't work. Gold-farmers will just lower their prices.

Just implement a real-world money system to the GE, it would be an easier, and bigger, middle finger to your older player-base that worked so hard for their things.

A player vote would have been nice, seeming as it's apparently the year of the player, or so you keep telling us.

In response to a couple of your points. No one is going to be able to take away from what you have achieved within the game. The things you have achieved are always going to be something that you did. However, this does give you another way to obtain rewards for your efforts by allowing you to purchase membership via bonds for in game items or gold that you have accrued through your efforts.

In terms of why we didn't have a player vote about this change. This was such an important decision that was critical to the long term health of the game that it had to be made. In addition, if a warning had been posted that this change was coming we could have seen all of the wealth held by goldfarmers dumped into the economy overnight.

First they added the loyalty shop, I didn't complain because the items could always be bought as long as you subscribe and you can't speed up that progress.

Then they started selling spins and bank spaces, I complained but still didn't quit because I am too addicted.

Now they are selling gold and I'm afraid there might not be enough legitimate players to actually care any more.

Disgusting. Jagex you are literally selling gold. In a few months, the bonds will disappear in favor of a gp dispensary. Mark my words.

To be clear Jagex are not selling gold and have no intention to do so. Introducing Bonds gives players the ability to trade their in-game items in exchange for membership, RuneCoins, RuneFest tickets etc.

If I may state my mind on this...

You aren't directly offering us a Buy 1/5/10/20m option, I realize that. However, it is so obvious that this is still giving players the ability to BUY RUNESCAPE GP. How can you Mods just stand by and let it happen?

EXAMPLE
Player A Buys a bond for $5. Sells it on the GE for 15m. Player A just bought 15m gp for $5. How simple is that. And, it's within the rules to boot.

I realize you guys are fighting a very uphill battle here, between declining member numbers and increased gold farmers and efforts from bots. I definitely don't envy your situation. I've been playing for nearly 10 years, seen lots come and go... This is a disgrace to the memory of what RuneScape used to be.

I really hope this is the end of botting and goldfarming.

What i think about the bonds:
It is really not something that i'm going to buy.
But i like the fact that they can be used to trade then with a friend to get his first time membership.
And in this way promoting then to become a member.

But i can also see why so many people are saying this is real-world trading.
But i rather see the money go to jagex and spend it back into the game then going to a goldfarmer.

So good job jagex it might be a very agressive way to put something like this into the game.
But if it works or atleast helps to decrease the amount of bots/goldfarmers its worth it.

Good job jagex.

Bandos god of war.
Jagex god of war against bots and goldfamers :')

How can you state that Jagex are not selling gold? I assume Jagex is not run by a bunch of simple minded children and that you are repeating the message that you are paid to. You have put nothing in place to stop this being exploited by people who will buy and sell bonds using real world money for RS GP. You are actually allowing this into your game. Not only does this condone the behaviour of all those who have bought RS gold in the past, you are encouraging it as long as you get a slice of the pie in a desperate attempt to keep this game alive.

What you are doing is deeply wrong but I guess instinctive - like a drowning man flailing his arms. I do wish however, you would have the integrity to not try to pretend your flailing is waving.

You should also remove those character perspectives from your front page. They are embarrassing - almost excruciating to read. Someone should be looking for a new job tonight.
