While it is Jagexs' things to do with what they wish; it's unfortunate to see it come down to this. No matter which way you look at it, real-life status can and will very easily determine ones' in game status.

Don't have enough for that level 90 gear? Buy 10 bonds, and sell them. BAM! Bye bye effort!

Is 99 Herblore a bit pricey for you and you're not willing and/or able to do it the slow way with Serum 207s? Buy 5 Bonds! You'll be looking at overloads in no time when you'll be able to buy the highest tiered potions the whole way through the skill!
Killing monsters or farming for herbs? Skill training? HA! Try our newest click-intensive skill - BONDING!

And to think that Jagex made a claim that they believe that NO ONE should be able to buy their way to success. I'm just shamed. That's all. I'm on the ropes with cancelling my recurring membership only because there's only so many steps further you can take with IGPs before it gets to the point of being able to buy max/completionist capes.

This was a very selfish move jagex. This should of been asked to us via a poll. Seriously. If 40% of people were illegally buying their gold well now you just made it 100% available but now its in your hands, your just cutting the illegal middleman out and now putting the profits in your pocket. I could go on about this. VERY DISAPPOINTED. So bad my blood is boiling as i type this.

Real life status could already do that, it's not like this game wasn't already just a matter of gold. Now some people might use Jagex instead of third party sites.

The difference being that buying gold from a third party site was against the rules and could get you banned. Now buying gold from Jagex is well... accepted by Jagex.

Heya Fluff Fox ,

Thank you for taking the time to post your feedback!

The main point about bonds is that they allow the players to control the movement of their wealth and subsequent benefits within the game.

We're simply providing a mechanism for legitimate players to purchase bonds. Although bonds can be sold for gold, they are only worth what you deem them to be - be it gold, items or even for free (as a gift). This moves wealth within the player ecosystem, and unlike gold farmers "dirty gold" - it does not inject gold into the economy, which would cause massive inflation.

Please remember, this is a counter attack on gold farmers. They harm the economy, game play and the community and this system essentially makes it so they cannot make profit by gold farming. Without profit these businesses die, whilst at the same time strengthening the economy in RuneScape.

Keep up the discussion everyone!

:D

I feel that this is effectively creating a RWT system through Jagex, since spins are fairly easy to get in-game without having to buy them, and since the price of Bonds will most likely equal the cost of Membership and Runecoins. This means the main purpose of buying Bonds with real money is to sell them in game for GP. More than that, I get spam from people all the time telling me offers from various illicit gold-sites, most of them selling GP cheaper than Bonds will ever go for.
