I feel so sour always complaining about these strings of bad updates but really.... Adding more ways to RWT isn't the way to go. Another blow to a dying game.

Oh well, it's just another nail in the coffin.

I really want this to work, but I'm not seeing how it will.

All I can see this doing is adding another commodity for the RWT to sell.

Sure, some of that money is flowing into your coffers, but the RWT will still make their profit.

They'll simply be selling bonds instead of, or in addition to, gold. Essentially, this is opening up membership, runecoins and spins to RWT, and allowing other entities besides yourselves to profit from it....
My motto is to be nice if I can, but also to not suffer trolls.

Jagex your selling out. First you start making the game look like a ghetto world of warcraft instead of runescape. I like Runescape because it is Runescape. I have played other games and the reason I come back is because I enjoy this game. You are just trying to get your fingers in on the real world trading. You dont like that other people are making an income on your game. You want to take that income in yourself. It is going to sink your game just like it did to Diablo 3. The only thing is this game is old and it is special. Dont ruin it to make a few extra dollars. Your failing Jagex.

This won't really stop anything. I doubt the bonds value in gold will exceed what you could buy from a gold farmer for $5. Competing with gold farmers doesn't solve the problem, out-competing them does. Diablo 3 is probably a bad example because that economy was in shambles, but, in the Real Money Auction House, gold was available for sale. At the beginning, it was like $1 for 1 mil, gold farmers sold that for cheaper easily, then Blizzard kept increasing the amount of gold that you could get for the same amount of money, eventually, the gold farmers couldn't compete anymore. And I really don't see any big Diablo 3 gold farming companies.

"But ppl will still buy it there if its cheaper than bonds"

The price of the illegal market GP is directly related to the value of bonds, the buyer will shop for the cheapest option, thereby making them always be worth the same, assuming the market always levels out.

Example:

Illegal market price per mil = $0.30
Bond price = $3
Value of bond = whatever $3 van get you in gp (illegal market says 10m, so the value of the bond is 10m)
Price of membership per month = $6

Illegal market lowers price to $0.15 per mil
Bond price = $3
Value of bond = whatever $3 van get you in gp (illegal market says 20m, so the value of the bond is now 20m)
Price of membership = $6

All this change does is 1. circulate more existing cash 2. Take a cut out of the illegal markets profits. 3. increase profits for jagex.

I think this is a great idea for those unable to purchase their own membership, however I feel it would be even better if we could redeem our in-game money directly to an NPC for a set amount. - Currently the GE has each bond at 12M+ at this price most non-members and a large majority of P2P members will be unable to afford the in-game "tariff" let alone the bond itself.
Is this something that could be introduced in the future?

Have to say Jagex you have out done yourself.
Brilliant...

I was at first like hey people are just going to abuse this and buy their banks, then I realized they a they already were. May as well have the money go towards you guys so we can get further improve the game.

Good Job.

EDIT:
To all the people who are against this please ponder the following:
Do we want botters/goldfarmers to be ruining the economy or would we prefer to just have something that Jagex can benefit from. Like seriously the money was already going away from Jagex for their own curency.

you got it!

Just another sad attempt on the part of Jagex to save their dying game. Let me correct myself: to save the game that THEY killed with EOC as well as countless of other updates such as their free trade wilderness experiment. Let's not forget the amount of players just six days prior to EOC was over 100*****

** least they knew this would be met with resistance and had to assign Mod Jane and Mod Redfox to sit on here and lie to our faces all day. These Mods sit here and tell us that this is not RWTing. How can they say this? To save their jobs? If they don't get it together, and soon, they won't have a job.

Yes most of us are addicted to this game, myself included, but there comes a point where I ask myself "Why am I paying money and wasting time to a company that continuously causes annoyances in my life?"

I would go on a rant and say repeal the EOC, much like you did with free trade and the wilderness, but Jagex has done too much damage at this point.
