Too bad Jagex made a lethal mistake with you as CEO - allowed the evil ******* ******* ******** to get a controlling interest in Jagex. This is the reason RS was destroyed by EoC and microtransactions, isn't that right?

EDIT: I consider the censoring of the name IVP as proof I'm right. They don't want to be discussed on the RS forums because they ruined the game.

I do agree in the first regard, as EoC is really enjoyable content, but I like SGS. Bonds was a smart idea. As for SoF/TH... Well anyway, they say that MS accounts for half of their current revenue, so don't see those leaving so soon.

Let's just hope that he's leaving for personal reasons and not due to financial or similar problems with the company. In that regard, the worst case scenario is the game closing down, of course, but talented developers being laid off is bad too.

I think Runescape mods had turned from saying, *we will tell you the details later please be patient* to *promising to deliver *SOON*a-z, then only giving a-e-i-o-u" x months and y years later.

Because they couldn't/wouldn't support the game that way and they are busy with something else.
They have failed to keep up the standards one of the world's most popular free MMORPGs and also disappointed players. Even the Gowers did that. Because they raised the standard so high and now they won't/can't maintain it, so they need to set a new standard. If it happens they word it as improvements(including profitability), or a more efficient system(including profitability) it is a step forward in Java gaming.
It is no longer just about Runescape, but about Gaming and business.
Which is probably why the concept, features and graphics have changed and are undergoing change.

Good luck with whatever it is you plan on doing, Mod MMG.

Although I have misgivings concerning some of your decisions your tenure at Jagex wasn't all bad. I do appreciate the fact that you tried your best to destroy botters and other kinds of cheaters.

@those nostalgic for Gower-era Runescape
Paul Gower confirmed a couple years ago that he wished to develop software for the gaming industry's future. With that in mind he started a new company and will not be returning to Runescape in the foreseeable future. As for the other Gower brothers I don't think they want their lives to revolve around Runescape.
