Truthfully, I don't follow all the people thanking you for all you've done. I'm not entirely clear on what you actually deserve credit for and what you don't--I just know you're getting too much, since there were way more people than you involved in all the decisions and content with your name tagged on it. But I do know in my time during this game, through each era of management, I have seen a marked decline in the player base and a pointed tarnishing of the game's original ideals. Thus, I am not saddened to see you leave, for as CEO, you certainly had adequate influence to halt these occurrences during your tenure, rather than exacerbate them. And certainly, the Glassdoor reviews don't help this matter--but they are certainly a good read, if nothing else. But nevertheless, it would be in poor form not to wish you well, in spite of how you really don't sit in particularly high esteem with me. I do hope whatever you move on to goes well for you. And I hope, that if things again roll downhill, that you'll leave early enough before the fall so that you don't look like you're jumping a ship that's taking on water. It makes us all feel a lot better if one displays at least that much foresight.
I won't say I look forward to the change--that suggests I'm hopeful for a positive change, and it really might be too late in the game for that. Runescape is a far cry from the game it used to be. But I will watch on, as I have been, and maintain my unconditional loyalty to this pastime. You may not be taking over as CEO, but, nevertheless, I, along with many others who have seen the rise and fall of Runescape, will be watching you, Pips, as well as all the others you'll be taking under your wing. Make us proud.
