Help me please since changing my rs name it wont let me log in with the authenticator code!!! I can not log into my emails what can I do idk why I can not play this is not what I signed up for very unhappy can someone get back to me via my twitter account @raineruby

I'm not the richest of players i buy Runescape bonds to keep my membership because i just love playing and i cant afford to buy the membership myself... it's sad to see my accounts security is going to be jepordized because you don't feel like keeping jag. i'm sure 100% of those who don't have a phone that can work with this authenticator, are going to be very upset. i believe a poll needs to be done on the recent update of security and the voice of the people should be heard.

I personally would like to thank Jagex for making this additional account protection because the amount of fake email I get from hackers is ridiculous. I have just recently came back to runescape and was delighted to see that Jagex was actually updating the game to how the players wanted it.

Also to the people saying they do not have smartphones, all you have to do is download a program called winamp and enter the qr code after clicking code wont scan. After just add it as a Google authenticator and use the code it generates for your account.

I tried but the security on my computer stopped it from downloading, I'm not going to turn off my security and i've read that winamp and some of those programs have had trouble in the past with other games and im going to jepoardise my computer for the authenticator. Im sure im not the only player who's computer wont let it download, how is it effective, I still think Jag should stay.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I for one do not have a smart phone or ipad, just my trusty computer. I feel we are being hung out to dry if there will be no more Jagex Guardian .
I think they should both run alongside each other, to suit all the players.

I don't have a smartphone and the first thing I can say about setting up the RuneScape authenticator using a computer is that it is so archaic. I am not one to carry access to my RuneScape account around on a USB drive, and I suspect that many other people are the same way.

Why not put a system into place that is similar to Gmail's 2-step verification? It would involve sending a player a text message with a code that will grant them access to their account, and would be much more convenient and likely cover a larger portion of the player base.
