I just set up Authenticator on USB stick, and had no problems - it works fine. :)

I think it is good to paste links like this every few pages or so as often people don't read all the thread and info like this is easily missed.
I think Jagex need to put links to this info on the main page for people to easily find

Lets see here, I go to questions & answers cause I do not have a smart phone and you runescape talks about this WinAuth we are suposed to use. Well I got to the website and says 502 bad gateway and this behind it. nginx/1.4.2. what I dont get it why in the hell you trying to fix something that its not broke? I been playing this game since 08 and 2 different account this crap dont make since and your asking me to go to a untested website according to my anti-virus program. ABout done with this ****

As a thread gets longer most people only read the first page and the last few pages. I am guilty of that myself hehehe. Its the nature of people and often people just don't have the time to read thru every page.

A lot of us have tried putting links on posts to help people but they get overlooked.

Jagex needs to add this information on the main page with links to forum details asap or the same questions just get asked over and over. If they are reading all the pages it is becoming very obvious they need to post all the info that has been given in the faq about authenticator with a link to this from the main page so it is easily found ( for the problems people are having getting the authenticator to work eg winauth)

That windows program doesn't seem to be able to make any scanning like the bts vid supposedly states so.

And Jagex's mods communication on how to do this is also outstanding. Remove my safe JAG questions (yes im not an idiot to have anybody else know them) and replace it for a code that I will make a mistake once and leave me out of ever logging in again. Great.

And that email recovery? Just sets everything else to fail in security since it has this weak spot.

Not to mention that installing it on a pc seems to only make me able to play it on a pc then, since it is what generates the code.


I just want to play this game, but instead you keep throwing me away onto a hundred annoying steps to everywhere. I get nowhere and start to wonder why am I even wasting my time with this still.
