Sorry i drop in so late, but i really have to address this.

When you say that this 30-60k player count is the actual player count. If that were true not only would i be concerned about the games fate, but i don't see the full truth behind it.

1) Whenever i played during the glory days (2008-2012) I knew one thing. Each time jagex released an update which would renew the games code so bots would malfunction. So after each update the player count dropped from 120 or 150k down to 90 or 110k. This was because bots shut down after an update and bot makers had to renew their scripts to run on the new code which usually took bot makers about 1-3 days to restore.

2) When you say true numbers you are forgetting that OSRS is not bot free yet the total player count counts for both games.

With that first point in mind and bot nuke is that they wiped out 95% (or 98% as the mentioned during the bot nuke) of the bots. Well if that's the case then why were there 90-110k player still online after having eliminated bots after an update or the bot nuke?

So if you want me to believe that 30-60k is the actual player count of legit players then we are missing about 30-50k people. Did they leave because of the EoC or is your story not completely true?
Ah but there are also gold farmers in the form of Chinese prison labor.

I'd like another statistic to be shown, and I think it would really be of the interest of the players. Which percentage of your income comes from membership and which from micro-transactions. Thank you.

"And despite rumours that everyone in RuneScape is very rich, the truth is only 1% of players have over 1 Billion GP in total wealth"

Is this like the trader that calls you with good news that your portfolio has "beaten the market by 10%" only for you to go home and realize that the market has actually tanked 20% leaving you in real terms 10% out of pocket!?

Doctored!!!!
He is including brand new accounts who couldn't possibly make 1 billion unless a mod gave the GP to them on account creation, thus swaying the results in his favour.

If he posted the % of players with 1bill+ that actually invest time into the game and are high leveled then I think the results will be hugely different.

"And despite rumours that everyone in RuneScape is very rich, the truth is only 1% of "PLAYERS" have over 1 Billion GP in total wealth."

Exactly! That statement is very vague and it could in all honestly include a number of factors which doesn't represent the current. The way the sentence is structured it doesn't specify the most important aspect "time"...
Well that's if where getting into the nitty gritty of all things that is :P

Stop reporting things that no one cares about. And let us know what you are doing to fix the issues RS is having.
I think Mod MMG told us exactly how they are trying to stop bots from ruining the fun for us! And not only that, don't forget that they've now got power to the players, which basically let's us choose for the most important things in the game, isn't that countering alot of problems for RuneScape?
Power to the players is not all that its cracked up to be. When jagex polled if we should lower the amount of worlds the players voted no. Why? Why people voted "no" when there is only 200 per world on average? I don't trust that all player votes are for the good of the game.

Obviously, not everyone is going to agree with every result from power to the players, but is our fellow players that are making these decisions. Like me and many others, we have played the same world for years now and wouldn't want to play on any other one.

Phlyx
I would for the good of the game. Having players spread out too much means that you never interact with people. If we have less worlds then we would have more players in the same world so they could do interact more with each other.

The majority of high level players should have well over a bill, I have around 2 bill and I haven't played RS3 properly in years and there's drops worth a bill now.

Could you be any more arrogant?

I mean, you're not actually making a point in this sentence, this sentence is merely a poorly crafted topical device you've used to boast about yourself. nothing else.

Unless you'd like to give me some hard data to back up your claim.

yeah Hinyness I see your point really I do but would putting a whole lot of people on just a few worlds seriously increase the lag which actually before the microtransactions and eoc was the thing people complained about most! I remember the crowded monkey hunt worlds! Or the final challenge day of super september trying to find the golden gnome the lag was so bad it was almost impossible to tell where to click to find the monkeys or the golden gnomes! Not to mention the actual logging in process!
