So, I gotta say Mark has a very good point. The community is much more enjoyable than before! I truly wish to see Runescape continue down this road, it makes the game more enjoyable and fun and less of a grind-fest, or maybe it just takes the mind off it.
Either way, the community is thriving and in a good way. I ought to say that I feel this is so because of the world events as they bring many different people together without the need for a clan or group of friends thereby allowing you to meet a whole range of people.
We definitely had some trouble with certain updates but as Mark said, we're all human and we all make mistakes. Furthermore, Runescape used the feedback given from the players through the mistakes to improve the current situation by learning from those exact mistakes. This is believe is the most important and incredible part of the year. The fact that you listen to us. It makes us feel as if we are appreciated to be playing this game and not as if we are just another number in a player count. I certainly can't thank you enough for the effort put into making us happy and the game more enjoyable for us and hope it continues in the long run!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!
Keep up the amazing work girls and guys of Runescape Staff!

P.S. I do believe that 2013 was supposed to be the year of the player and may feel as if it is not. But I think it is as it provided a greater sense of community by the end of it all which inadvertently affects the way the player feels the game meaning it was thereby for the player themselves.
The thing that I'm most happy with is the initiative that Jagex took concerning updates. In the past, it felt like there was a disconnect between Jagex and the player base. Now, however, I feel like that gap is closing. Jagex, thank you for a wonderful year, and I wish you all, and all of my fellow players, a very merry Christmas.

They are selling XP in a game which focuses on grinding. This is the most blatant disrespect to the playerbase that is possible. The gap IS NOT CLOSING, it is widening with the exception os OSRS, and Jagex doesn't seem to have learned anything.

I'm tired of people complaining about EoC and SoF, it's been out for months and you still haven't gotten over it? People need to learn to get used to a changing world and grow up, it's not 2007 anymore.
This, this, THIS.
If no-one ever complained, nothing would ever change. Months mean nothing, some battles for good cause seemingly impossible to ever attain (slavery for example) have lasted for centuries or millenias.
And if you really think a game changing isn't a big deal you're dead wrong. Some games literally are people's lives. You might think it's weird, but it's very common nowadays for people to spend most of their spare time playing a single game.
The changes made in rs are like soccer rules were modified so you could use sticks to whack your opponent and instead of scoring goals the point of the game would be to knock teeth out of mouths.
Hello everyone and Merry Christmas. I think the most memorable moment for me on RS this year was the launch of Bonds. I called my friend instantly and said "your not gonna believe what they just launched. 'BONDS'". I explained to him how awesome its going to be. I asked almost everyone in my friend list about how they felt about it. it was surely a very brave step. cant wait to see what surprises the next year will bring.
For Christmas I was hoping Jagex would be candid for once.
This wasn't a good year at all.
Now how about a New Years resolution - Stop being greedy, hire some quest developers, and disestablish all micro transactions?
To look into my better nature, I forgive Jagex this year. Even what they said in this first post, how many lies there are, but I won't forget.
Do better next year.
Merry Christmas everyone!
