Old School RuneScape is fun for me. I enjoy training my skills, and not having everything be based around Boss Figthing. I like being able to profit from my non combat skills. This is the most important part of the game for me, being able to profit from my non combat skills, such as mining, smithing, hunter, thieving (Thieving needs much better loot by the way in both Old School and RS3).
Already Old School is being changed by Godwars, the Dom Onion Tower, and new monster drops, which is already eroding mining and smithing as being profitable, which is why I stopped playing Old School as much after these updates.
Please make sure Old School non combat skills are not overshadowed by monster drops. I want my non combat skills to be profitable and useful, maybe even have non combat skills produce better items than I can get from monster drops sometimes.
If I could have one thing reach the developers it would be to ask for the non combat skills to produce tradeable items I can profit from suitable to high levels and as good if not better than monster drops, and the parts obtainable without having to fight monsters and without having to buy them, but to be produced solely through non combat, even if they are to be ultimately used for combat.
Why not add rare resources obtained from fishing caskets, through the thieving skill, through hunter, through mining, through farming (You dig up a casket as you clear the allotment and find resources in it), through woodcutting (You discover something hidden in the trunk of a hollow tree while woodcutting), you find something in a bird's nest, the impling drops a rare item as you catch it.
Lets make this year be the one where non combat skills shine as brightly and become as profitable as combat skills.
I'd love new dungeons for mining and agility, with cave ins, changing resource locations, some danger but lots of rewards.
I'd like to farm, plant a vine or tree, climb a building with agility, thieve, gain loot.
Non combat.
