Forgive my ignorance if this an absurd question, I am very limited in my knowledge of programming. But I'm assuming the cap is 200m because it is just a neater number than 2.147 billion or so which is a 32bit integer. So if it this is the reason for the cap, is it possible to turn exp into a 64 bit integer? Nine quintillion is a wee bit bigger than two billion so that would give them plenty of time to still skill and allow the number ones to be surpassed. If the cap is based on some other reason or if you can't just single out exp into being the only number to follow the 64 bits then ignore this comment.
I voted yes because I actually think this would be a cool update. Although I do agree with one of the top most first post that maybe every skill should be released to 120, although that could be added later on to then again give the old highscores a ability to be sought after.
Now What I hate the most is that probably most of everyone that even voted, doesn't even play Runescape but probably plays OldSchool.
I think that to solve some flaw's and still have the Prestige update they should have kind of seperated lobby's for the same account where all there information, bank, and items are the same but they can do a exit to lobby and go on the prestige and start working on the same account thus making having multipule accounts pointless
I say start increasing the cap to 120. Hand out true mastery capes and provide extra content.
For example, smithing. It's a new age, which means new technology. We can already smith pieces of dragon metal together. Who says the dwarves won't discover the secret to smithing from dragon metal bars in this new age? Dragon items are already cheap, so it won't really be a matter of item crashes.
1 i don't want my xp past 99 to have bin a waste its just my op please don't rage me
2 i don't think its right that the new hi scores would be the default hi scores and the old ones pushed aside
sorry if you wonted this but everyone should vote how they fee
i no want lose xp, it iz xp waste, me no want waste time even in a game for fun.
me also no want new optional hiscores, me fear change and me especially fear wounded ego
even if means i haz vote no and block a fun update
^^^
This is pretty much what most of the no's sum up to. Or they go off on rants about unrelated updates or content they dislike. This poll is really unfair and one can hope jagex doesn't take crap like this too seriously lol

Vote no ppl....seems rahl is just alot of hot air right now....i think he's said all he deems important for prestige....anyhoo....vote no ppl....vote no
ppl will vote "no" if they want too.
its not right to try and tell them what to vote.
I have not told anybody how to vote or told them voting no is crap.
I have pointed out excuses for being against prestige is crap.
1) People can pass people on high scores who have achieved 200 mil exp. I do not see alot of people looking at who got what exp in what skill and admiring them for their achievement.
2)Prestige devalues achievements. That might be so, but a game that updates devalues the achievements of those who did such things before the updates. An example is a person getting 99 prayer before construction and somebody getting 99 prayer with guilded alter and a pack yak.
3) Prestige makes the game unhealthy. Yes and people going for 200 mil in exp or wanting skills to go up to 120 is unhealthy. 120 levels with in game advantage would encourage everybody to get 120 in skills for the advantages and discourage new players from even trying runescape because they will be at unfair advantages for many, many years.
4) Prestige will force me to do it to get the rewards even if they are cosmetic. Mod Jack already said that if you want the cosmetic, you can get 99, click to prestige, then go back to 99 and do nothing more then the cosmetic looks. The only difference between Prestige of 1 and prestige of 5 is a number in the cometic item or emote.
5) Prestige will cause resources to rise in price. It may cause resources to rise some, but people will be able to get gp for such resources at prices before bots infested the game and caused the prices for such resources to crash to levels where it is not worth the time for people to gather them. With a demand for resources, people will gather resources.
Prestige sounds pretty great. It will put life into some dead areas. Right now, once you reach a certain level, you don't go back to an earlier training spot for less xp/hr. That means more people are training on higher level stuff than the lower level one and they tend to collect at the best xp/hr in the skill until 200m xp. With prestige, you'll have a cyclical flow of players at training sites instead of what we have now- a plateau.
To all the YES voters who insist on replying to all of the NO voters and insulting them...
Lets really make resetting levels fun and reset our banks at the same time. After all, the real fun of starting off was figuring out how to get tools and materials too. Lets have as much fun as possible.
Keep on insulting NO voters. The more you insult them, the more NO votes we seem to get.
