Can't believe that so many players voted 'no' just because they wouldn't use the prestige system. I wouldn't use it myself, but come on! Why take away that opportunity from other players? You are never forced to reset your 99's back to level 1. And the maxed players get another opportunity to train those skills back to 99 without having to create another character. The egoism in a large part of the player base is absoluty pitiful. Ashaming even.
I am proud to vote 'yes' because i want this game to be good for everyone, not just myself!

Already canceled my membership. Will not renew if something is not done to fix the terrible stagnation in this game. People have their heads so far up their butts to see that this update would actually be good for the game. but NOOOOOOOO people have to be so stinking selfish (seriously at all the people who voted no even though they didnt really know what it is or that they just don't care and wouldnt use it) They can't think past what is in the present to see what will actually help and what will hinder this game. I have been playing this game since this game was just a brand new little idea that mod Andrew had back in 1999. Guess jagex cares so little for its game now that they would be influenced by people who ultimately in a yr or so, wont even matter.
GJ at ruining your own game jagex. Peace
Cancelled mine an hour or 2 ago also. Pretty soon rs will be nothing more than a group of maxed/completionists with nobody else to pay attention to their "achievements".
No new players want to start a game where nobody is doing the newer player activities that they are, and nearly all the rest have nearly completed everything. Too much disparity in the player base.
I'm starting to get the feeling that nobody wants fair hiscores without having the bots and rwt of old. Even if a player didnt use them directly, they tainted the entire game economy for a very long time.

Great point, This update would also allow the most active players in the game to interact with the newest and medium level players, helping to provide great contacts and possibly promote a funner environment for all! I love that

Unless you want to stay competitive. You can only stay at 99 if you're happy with not being remotely close to the top on the high scores.
Voted no. Rework it.
Aww someone doesn't want their ego upset. Sounds like you would've supported prestige if it left you on top or near it somehow. Selfish lol
"I dont care if it would be good for the game, I just want to be close to top on hiscores!" Thats what you sound like. You should be ashamed lol...wow, just wow
I really like the idea of prestige, despite everything. (don't look at my levels and judge from this, I've played RS since '06 and had my fair share of leveling) but I still LOVE the idea of an endless amount of XP, and I wouldn't mind doing some skills again to show off the titles/customization that will come with it.
-Yes it has a negative impact on hiscores (for those who honestly care)...
and I agree, there are some things to be tweaked.
Here are just some of my counter-arguments.. You don't have to agree but I think I make a valid point..
People who say
i've worked hard for my 99s I don't want to do it again
-You don't have to do it again. If you care about the hiscores that much than you can go look at the other ones.
it's not fair to those who have 200m XP already
-How? You still have more overall XP than them. You achieved your goal. If you wish to continue and level more you can. But you don't
HAVE
to. plus, 200m is a hell of an achievement, and I won't look at any players differently just because of it.
why should someone who has 99 with 13m xp and prestige 1 be higher than me if I have 99 with 200m XP?
If this REALLY bothers you, like honestly, down to the core bothers you, than vote no. But look at it this way, if you prestiged and got level 2, you'd be higher than him, AND with a ton more XP.
too much time and effort, I don't want to redo it
then don't redo it. other people might want to.
I really wish everyone would give this a chance instead of voting no without seeing the impact this could have on the game. Everyone is so afraid of change. Everytime something new is suggested you guys threaten that you're going to quit the game. Honestly I couldn't be bothered to have you in the community anyways with that attitude.
But, for the sake of keeping this game alive, please, have a more open mind.
Only the hiscore aspect of it is optional, you'll be affected by the prestige system whether you like it or not ingame.
More competition for low level spots; however, someone who's only prestige say slayer, will have superior stats to someone actually low leveled and would make it really hard for the lower leveled one to train slayer.
If you were level 50 combat and had to compete for slayer spots with a max player using Seismics, would you feel like slaying?
Prices for resources will rise where high levels having access to more moneymaking methods will again have a huge advantage. It'll also encourage bots to return in larger numbers.
The prestige system has its pros and cons, it's an interesting concept. I'm curious to see what solution Jagex will come up with taking both positive and negative feedback into consideration, if the vote doesn't pass.

If, as you say in your post, this is aimed at higher level accounts, why are the requirements to vote so lax?
We're going to track and analyse the patterns in the voting.
Say the vote passes, but the overwhelming majority of high level players vote against it. We'd take that into account when deciding how to implement it.
Would this work the other way? If the vote doesn't pass, but the overwhelming majority of high level players vote for it, would it be implemented?
If that's the case then why call it a vote at all?

I believe enough slayer spots/assignments that we really don't have to worry about people competing and it being
that
much of a bother.
Prices shouldn't inflate too much because although people want more resources, there will be more people
getting
those resources. I don't think this will encourage bots to come back to the extent you're saying, just because I don't really think it will inflate prices that much.
But I do agree it has it's pros and cons, and am looking forward to what comes of it
I'd rather see skills extended to 120 than see a "Call of Duty-esque" prestige system
+1 to Samurai 2005 his unedited post is on Pg.1
I think there are many old school Vet's that might feel the way He & I do. I think that recapping the Mastery level on all skills would be even more profitable for Jagex. I think there are many players that would like to see all skills true mastery levels raised
I often wonder how many other players feel the way I do. For I often feel angry when I think about skill cap's being 99. Why Settle for a 99 when I could have 120 or better yet skills that cap at 150
Why must we settle for our stats being capped at 99? If Dungeoneering can be capped at 120. Why then Can't the Developers of Runescape redesign the Cap levels for all skills?
My Idea for the way the new ranking & title system could work. Jagex could make new title ranks for those that achieve the new skill levels. A player can only get a named Title rank if they hold at minimum 99 of 120 or a minimum 110 of 120 or 125 of 150. Just 1 skill at 99 120 or 150 will not earn a player, The apprentice or Journeyman's Title in front of their name
A player becomes an Apprentice when all of his/her skills have reached level 99 of 120 or 100 of 150
Apprentice Devans Blade
A player reaches a Journeyman's rank when all skills are 110 out of 120 or if they are 125 out of 150
Journey Man Devans Blade
A player Gets the rank Master of all. When all skills are at level 120 or 150 Depending on a skills new Cap levels
If a Player Gets say 120/120 or 150/150 Say in Crafting thieving or cooking then they could hold single Title Ranks such as Master Craftsman Devans Blade or in cooking then they'll be Master Chef Devans Blade or Master Thief Devans Blade
So Jagex how about releasing higher caps for all skills instead of the prestige system?
I think my Idea is a excellent one. But I have no idea how many other players feel the same way I do
