I also still haven't heard a reasonable answer as to why someone would even vote no on this. It has no effect on them or their precious hiscores or OCD completionist "I wanna beat rs" attitude.

The prestige system negatively impacts high ranking players as the current high-scores become a separate page, tucked away behind the "new" (and relevant) HS as a reference point for those people who are interested in the current ranking system. The only people who would remain interesting in this system are those players who've worked their assess off to achieve their slots anyways. Everybody else would be paying attention to the prestige HS as a way to measure your account's success.

And the problem with the prestige system is that it unfairly pressures high ranking players to reset if they want to continue to hold down their ranks atop the high scores. You can argue that it is "optional", but the fact this system does not recognize previous efforts and XP gained past 13M means that players will be pressured to start competing all over again unless they want their previous achievements to be diminished. When you've put thousands of hours into your account mindlessly grinding skills for ranks, this is an overwhelming thought.

Not to mention high-level competition is quite unhealthy these days. Just look at what happened with Divination! AlmostLost (rank 1 overall & in Divination for a couple weeks) actually had to go to the hospital for a heart-related incident that was no doubt exacerbated by the fact he had been sleeping 2 hours a day since the release of Divination to maintain his rank. Prestige would surely see a new wave of incredibly addicted players competing for their dream perch atop the high scores.

Already canceled my membership. Will not renew if something is not done to fix the terrible stagnation in this game. People have their heads so far up their butts to see that this update would actually be good for the game. but NOOOOOOOO people have to be so stinking selfish (seriously at all the people who voted no even though they didnt really know what it is or that they just don't care and wouldnt use it) They can't think past what is in the present to see what will actually help and what will hinder this game. I have been playing this game since this game was just a brand new little idea that mod Andrew had back in 1999. Guess jagex cares so little for its game now that they would be influenced by people who ultimately in a yr or so, wont even matter.

GJ at ruining your own game jagex. Peace

My worry is the inflation to the economy that this may well cause.

If everyone that takes part needs 2x then 3x etc the xp to 99 and 99 after there will be a huge resource need for buyable skills.
This will make buyable 99 material's skyrocket and make Gold worth alot less.
It could unfortunately have the side effect of opening a door for Bots to come back,
not selling you the Gold but instead selling the raw materials.

With the nearly complete removal of Bots and the introduction of Bonds,
Jagex finally has the Bots/ Gold farmer's on the ropes in EOC!

Please do not allow them a Foothold and reason to come back!!!

I had 1 insulting post that I elaborated on, please stop crying. If you found that particular post insulting, then I don't know what else to do. Admittedly, I'm frustrated the No reasons don't extend to anything beyond "I'm not going to do it so nobody should" or "I already have lots of XP so no"

I have offered compromised ideas to the latter of those reasons but if my tone gets you butt hurt, I'm sorry. If the term butt hurt gets you butthurt, then ... I see what you mean:-P

As far as your question dedzar, I thought you read my post and you would know that I don't care about XP being higher then somebody else.

I'm sorry you disagree with me, but in all honesty CALM DOWN

Good day Dedzar

Voted "Yes". Why? Because I'm always down for other ways of gaining ranks/levels and experience for my clan. I'm also looking forward on seeing how you guys (Jagex) plan on working the prestige system if it fails to pass now considering of what Mod Jack said about tweaking it.

"If we don’t implement Prestige, we’ll reassess the project** goals and our implementation of them based on all the feedback we’ve been given. We’re not going to abandon the idea of providing more things to do and more accomplishments, but we are willing to look at other ways of doing this." - Mod Jack's own words from first page.

This is going to be interesting, but we shall wait and see!

For me its a one big no. Too much time and effort that I'm not willing to do over again. I think you can do so much with this game don't let us go back. Please make the game appealing for new players, rather than this update. :( :(

Negatively impacts? LOL so does the current system of completionist, maxed, and 200ms. At least prestige is optional, you're assuming its necessary or something.

And excessive amounts of anything (even water) is unhealthy, it's common sense. You want us to limit everyone to certain amounts of water and food and also limit what kinds of food can be made?

And who cares if someones ego gets deflated a little because of new hiscores? It happens plenty already, with runespan and warbands most recently. You mean to say someone's ego is more important than updates that would add tons of replay value and content?

And I'll say it again because people dont seem to get it...OPTIONAL

Can't believe that so many players voted 'no' just because they wouldn't use the prestige system. I wouldn't use it myself, but come on! Why take away that opportunity from other players? You are never forced to reset your 99's back to level 1. And the maxed players get another opportunity to train those skills back to 99 without having to create another character. The egoism in a large part of the player base is absoluty pitiful. Ashaming even.

I am proud to vote 'yes' because i want this game to be good for everyone, not just myself!
