so sad to see so much butthurt kids

after many years jagex finaly came up with idea worth implementing in game to make it a little bit more competitive skilling wise and yet all the dumbasses votes no for it

oh well atleast 07 is still somewhat competitive in highscores

Maybe the dumbasses are the ones thinking about the bigger picture? Remember, prestige system is only for the very small top of players but affects all other players.

An example of another flaw in the "prestige" system. The concept of a level is obliterated.

You have just made it to dungeoneering level 99. With your next 1,356,729 XP should you get level 100 dungeonering or should you reset to prestige 1, and even though you need to earn twice as much XP per each and every level, get to prestige 1 level 69 with the same amount of XP.

One level of real work = 69 levels of trumped up nonsense. Wow, even the concept of level is destroyed by prestige.

Seems like a wonderful concept to me.

EDIT: If I switch back to prestige 0 at this point do I get a free level 100?

Absolutely brilliant.

Seems like the only "fair" solution is for a "level" in high scores to be "level progress" with 99 being the max in all skills but dungeoneering which would be 120.

Actually if you had read the dev blog properly then you would know that dung can only be prestiged at 120.

Opps. Thanks for reminding me. However, it shows how ridiculous the system is because across skill you get 69 levels for the same effort as 1. So it DOES obliterate the meaning of levels, we now get a sawtooth instead of an exponential formula for effort between levels.

Definitely no; this needs to be revamp. Prestige shall be eternal with no limitations. 200 max levels milestone is ok but players most be allow to continue increasing those levels and reward shall be provide it accordingly. For example if I reach the 300 million level milestones on fishing I shall get an out of this world reward that will boost my prestige even higher so others are motivated to compete and reach even higher levels. Levels from 99 to 120 are ok as long as players can not buy their way to it. That is keeping in mine that many of them have lots of gps to do it and it will not be fair to those that have lesser gps. Maybe a block to utilize items that had been purchase or trade will be a nice challenge for all those elite players. You can give some rewards that are out of this world like some out of this world amour and weapons that will allow all elite players to compete with each other and also some out of this world huge super high level monsters yep, that’s my line of though hope you can build something from it.
Prestige shall also be divided by milestones that way the lower levels can also get a hand full of prestige between each other. After all; prestige is not only for elite players. Prestige is just like medals, stars, trophies and gifts in any competition. It is call rewards that are gear toward experience points, achievements and recognition in game play. An area to display this reward will be nice also.

Who the hell cares anymore....the "NO's" have this one in the bag...its a done deal and wont be implemented

I sure hope you are right, but I for one hope Jagex takes a good long look at some of their concepts that were billed as showing who truly works harder.

Here is a look at the XP tables with ordinal levels instead of actual levels:

With prestige the XP to next level looks like this for the typical skill:
XP 97th level to 98th level = 1,112,977
XP 98th level to 99th level = 1,228,825
XP 99th level to 100th level = 166
XP 100th level to 101st level = 182

With prestige the XP to next level looks like this for dungeoneering:
XP 118th level to 119th level = 8,903,655
XP 119th level to 120th level = 9,830,430
XP 120th level to 121st level = 166
XP 121st level to 122nd level = 182

How does this make any sense or add "prestige" to the new levels which get you a higher ranking?

I believe that it was a good call to say no on this one; however, the 'no' means not that this idea will go away, it means it will be rethought and eventually implemented once the consensus is that this is a worthy addition to the game. When the second round of the prestige idea comes about, it probably will have better success. I'm excited for that.

I can't wait for the second round of the prestige idea to transpire. :P
Hope it will be soon and gear towards every one and not just for high level players.
The entire prestige subject needs to be revamp... O_o
