When someone tells me that, with a purchase, I get an 'exclusive' item -- I take that to mean that item is 'exclusive' to the people who made that particular purchase.
I think that should be the way Jagex uses it. Exclusive doesn't mean 'it's exclusive right now, but later on we'll open it up so anyone can get it, so it will be common'.

And making a delineation between holiday rares and items offered as exclusive rewards with card purchases, etc? Why? I don't see the difference. If one can go from being exclusive to common, why not the other?
The only delineation I would put in place, would be tradeable vs. non-tradeable.

Try to remember these items have been out for a fair old length of time; if you have the equippable versions from their initial release then you've had all that time to look elite and well ahead of the pack. :)

As far as giving out free overrides to those who already possess the originals - its a nice idea but I'm not sure how complicated that process would be or if it's even possible. I'll note it down though. :)





That is the most condescending response I think I've ever seen from a Jagex mod before today.
If this is indicative of the attitude that Jagex now has towards it's player community, I can only say that I am sorry I bought the Gold Members package.

It is EXTREMELY uncool and dishonest to on the first hand offer these items as premier / exclusive to generate recurring membership income, and then on the second hand to re-offer the same items through another income generator (SGS) to those who did not throw their money down the first time around.

While new players, or cash strapped players-at-the-time, will be glad to get their hands on something new or something they may have missed, this kind of marketing will certainly diminish the effectiveness of all future promotions, and upsets more people than it satisfies, imo.

BUT, more importantly, this is a huge slap in the face for the many players who bought into the false advertising of these items as premier / exclusive when they were originally offered. PLUS, the fact that people will again have to put real monies into SGS to get them casts a bright light on the true motivations of the company. Just because people get "something" in return does not make the tactics right. The ends do not justify the means.

PLEASE be honest with your promotions and make it clear whether the items are ever to be offered again, so people can make good decisions about their hard earned money, and not be manipulated and squeezed to cough it up by false advertising, only to realize that they were hood winked when they took the bait.
