I see your point fluff fox, but as with the other game that Jagex advertised on the Runescape website, Ace of Spades, there were no in game advertisements for it, just a heads up to the general playerbase that, hey, we have this new game, check it out. There is nothing wrong with that.
As for Jagex spending their money on developing new games, why is that a problem?
If Jagex are trying to branch out into making more games and becoming a serious games developer, is that not good news?
Should they just stick to Runescape?
What if this game becomes a success on the mobile platform? This can only mean good things for Jagex as a whole and will give them a good name for when they release Runescape on the mobile platform.
If it flops, oh well, at least they tried.
Yes you pay for your membership, but so do I and I personally think this a step in the right direction for them.
