Okay, I don't agree with quite alot of things that Jagex does, but I really don't see the problem here.

Should they be a one game company? No. Why should they? Funorb was brilliant before they stopped updating it, and it still has alot of potential right now. And as for people saying this will "Take players away from Runescape" Or "split the community" it's a smartphone game. Does Temple Run stop me from playing Runescape? No. Another whiny comment I've seen is "Focus on Runescape" If you did your research you would know this is a totally separate team working in the California branch of Jagex. They recruited more specifically for that game. Jagex does not have to equal Runescape. And if you "don't like racing games" Then it's simple. Don't download it, it's not difficult. One last thing, advertising their game on the Runescape webpage? What's the problem there? You can just ignore it if your not interested, the world does not stop because of one post.

The only complaint I have sympathy for is the "Why not on Android?" To be fair, it should be released on Android, the smartphone market is not ruled by Apple these days.

But what about us who don't like racing games? What about us who don't have iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch?

Jagex, please stop dividing community.. Where's equality? We all pay for the same game yet not everyone can enjoy something that is being released.

Definitely a real feminist.

OT:

I'm not sure why people are getting so worked up over Jagex creating a game. It's a games studio, developing games is what they do you morons.. Runescape isn't the only game they're allowed to have.

If you're judgmental and somehow can see into the future and know Carnage Racing is going to be bad, don't play it.

The only issue i see here is why you would publish it on the Runescape homepage knowing people will get mad at you're attempt to 'subtly advertise' a game that is in no way, shape or form similar to Runescape.

I say this because It's reeeeally annoying coming to the homepage of a fantasy game and seeing two cars racing in my face.

Generally curious as to how much success you get on a racing game by advertising it to a fantasy biased audience that are renowned for being great haters :)

My worry is that it is the thin edge of the wedge - once the furor has died down, they'll start advertising their other games, and not just the Jagex games - IVP controls Jagex. IVP controls Nexon. Nexon created MapleStory.....

Runescape's updates destroying combat and the equipment stats made me not want to do any combat anymore. Squeal of Fortune has single handedly killed this game off completely for me. I don't want to play this game anymore because of it. It's totally disheartening to never have all the special items because I can't afford to gamble money on ingame benefits that have a life of 3 days. I can't believe what 1nside Venture Partners has done to Runescape, making it squeeze all the money it can out, rather than just make a modest profit and let the developers do what they do best. The game is on its death bed, and if you deny that fact you're kidding yourself. The game used to have 200K players at once, now it's more like 30K at a time, figuring that 30% are bots, that's a fairly negligible player base, considering that the number of players "online" includes old school and new school together, with at least 10K players in old school alone. 20K RS3 players, 30% are bots, means 14K actual players, not counting all the afk training going on due to Divination and the other time sink skills like fishing, wc, exe. The player base has either grown out of the game, or has found more substance in other games from Xbox or the PS3. I'm glad I can focus on work, my family, and In The Groove to work up to owning my own arcade cabinet. I'll be spending all my time playing ITG or riding my horse with my soon-to-be-fiancée. I'm ready, I'll see you all on the other side, it's been great.
