Jagex makes enough money to fund many projects and getting a stronger foothold in the AppStore and other devices could be good for the possible mobile runescape. I can't play this game cuz my iPod is outdated but the other games were fun. As for Funorb, I heard its getting a refresh. Everyone expects so much and are always jumping the gun, calm down I'm sure they know what they are doing. More money means new tech and employees.
Is it too much to expect Jagex to stop abandoning every project they ever start just to start a new project they inevitably abandon?

Yes. This. Not to mention that the advertisements on the new racing game will make Jagex some money, resulting in more high quality updates (like quests, world events, skills, etc.) for Runescape.
As much as I'd like to support a new app game(specially one that is multiplayer), jagex has yet to fix RS's countless glitches and bugs.. I'd reckon this new game will have tons of issues as well

How does this have anything to do with RuneScape? Does it affect RuneScape? Was it created for RuneScape? Do we even care about that game? It doesn't, no, no, and we don't
