It's shocking how many people are either childishly impatient, believe they've never made a mistake themselves and/or just simply don't understand the concepts of mistakes.

I was looking forward to this as well, it's still coming out. It's not the end of the world if we have to wait a bit longer.

It's not so much we can't wait, it's that they advertised on the homepage for days before, like they knew it was going to come out. They were testing it AFTER they "confirmed" it. They have also been putting updates for these events on their social media branches BEFORE putting it right at the source.

When we can finally get a long-overdue needed overhaul, they botch it, but when they release a new SoF or SGS item, it's never delayed. The excuses they have made for these postpone s (Sad there are 2 of them) are ridiculous as well. "With literally millions of Loyalty Points to count up and distribute..." - They should not have to do this, nor are they. It is some B.S. excuse that is covering up something else, or they just made something really buggy. Horribly buggy, like thrown together in a day buggy.

This update isn't comparable to releasing a single item. This is merging two rather large aspects, that are already both available in game, and have been available for quite a while. All this while making sure no data is lost, and everyone getting the points they deserve.

Before you assume that the update is "horribly buggy", think about how illogical that is. They already put out announcements for it to be released. They were excited to release it. Naturally, they ran into some last-minute trouble, but you have to realize that this is a store merge . It isn't quite the same, or as plan-able, as releasing a SoF item, or even a new quest or dungeon. It's completely different from anything that regularly happens to the game.

lol at ragers saying "Sof/SGS updates are flawless"

Its not that hard to release a cosmetic item. Jagex even said that is the reason why there are so many SoF/SGS updates, they require minimum effort for maximum profit.

The loyalty store/SGS merge is much bigger than releasing some cosmetic. I would've been surprised if they didn't run into bugs.

I personally want half the people in this thread to either stop skimming or to learn to read.

Quote the News Article:
"We apologise for the delay and plan to move the launch into next week's game update ."

They did not say replace. They said INTO. Meaning it will be two updates done at once.

Once again, I find myself both amused and disappointed by the number of people hating on this.

People just assume that when it comes to programming, everything is instantaneous and all updates are as difficult to produce as each other.

Well that's not how it works. Programming takes a looooong time. It's a pain in the butt. Misspelling a single word can mean hours of trying to figure out why the bloody thing doesn't work. So yeah, it really could take a week ironing out all the issues.

If there's a last-minute bug, it could be a serious one and nobody can figure out just why it's happening. Would you rather they just release it right now and you lose all your loyalty points and runecoins? And don't receive new points every month? Because that's how serious a single bug could be.
Or it could be that players would get 50,000 runecoins every month instead of loyalty points. Which I'm sure nobody would complain about, but it's not how the thing's supposed to work.

We just don't know, so instead of assuming that Jagex doesn't care about you, only cares about money, accept the fact that there could genuinely be a very serious problem and instead of breaking the game, Jagex decided to make sure it worked before releasing it.

Oh yeah, and comparing random EoC glitches to this is just bad and you should feel bad.

Hey, Jagex! I hope you read this!

I want to cheer you on in this endeavour - rolling out something as big as and combining these aspects is no mere task, and I look forward to seeing it released with everything worked out! The people above me make some good points - it is awkward how it was advertised to be released on a specific date, but I personally feel that this is itself not an excuse to get so angry. It's not something that's critically integral to the game, it's just bonuses and cosmetics!

I'm in school right now studying database design, and the merger of the two systems just makes me so curious! I wish I could have an insight into what it is that went wrong (even if just so much as some design errors that prevented the currently merged system from running flawlessly as expected, or more likely something to do with updating all those account records with the correct due new loyalty).

Either way, I look forward to next week and the release - I wonder what I'll be able to buy! (I don't know if I mentioned this before or not, but at least you left Xuan in-game and we can redeem Jack of Trades aura xp - when we remember to do so, that is! ;) ) I hope my concern for a well-implemented system isn't in the minority in the community!

The problem is that they should be testing this update BEFORE saying "It will work and it will be out at this exact date", only to back out and say "lol nope, sorry ."

It's obvious that this update cuts their profits a teeny bit, so what do they do? They delay it for as long as they possibly can. It's disgusting and cruel.
