@DarkJamzi

Yes, it's absurd to think we should have the privilege to be properly informed on what's going on with a game we throw our money into. Such an absurd idea indeed.

Weren't you properly informed then? Were you not told the update was postponed? Not sure what you mean with "throw our money into", membership per month is almost non existent. I wish they would double it so maybe a lot of these whiners will quit. I wouldn't mind paying £10.00 per month if it means a better community gets created. :P

I think it's hilarious seeing all the people posting about how greedy the community is.

I'm sorry, but what? Jagex isn't a charity. I don't play RuneScape for free because Jagex is a kind spirited game lover. I pay them money each month, and when you give money to a business, you generally expect results.

If I ordered a new couch, and they told me that it would be delivered on Monday, sent me e-mails and told me "Be ready Monday, your couch is coming." and then told me Monday at 5pm that "Oops, sorry, we don't know when you can get it." I'd get a refund.

I don't see why so many of you act like Jagex doesn't owe the players anything, because they do. They owe me AT THE VERY LEAST, access to the game. And when said game goes down, it is their responsibility to inform me "Hey, we had some downtime, this is what happened, here's why it won't happen again."

Instead, this is the FIRST time I've seen Jagex post about an update being delayed. Maybe it's some massive coincidence that this update happens to be to Solomon's Store, I don't know.

What I do know is that communication like this is totally unacceptable, as a customer I expect that if you give me a date, you can follow through with it, and if you can't, you need to let me know why in a timely manner, and that follows for every update, not just the ones that put more money into your pockets.

Amen, Trevorghost. Amen.

@TrevorGhost, I would definitely rather have a complete update, rather than one that will need updating again later.

That couch analogy, would you rather have a good, nice, whole couch that might take a little longer to get due to quality concerns, or a crappy, horribly made, broken couch that can be there on the day of arrival?

Yeah, that's what I thought. Horrible analogy, really.

You are not entitled to anything. You are entitled to the membership that you pay for, and absolutely nothing else. You did not give your money to Jagex for the reason of improving the game. You gave your money to Jagex for access to membership. They do not owe you anything else.

They will still give you the updates, but if there is a problem with it, they are not going to deliver it exactly then. It needs to be complete first, or else you'll just whine about how it isn't complete later.

"Oh, I'm a customer, this update isn't complete. I'm entitled to completeness."

You can't rush perfection.

Sad that nowadays it doesn't matter what Jagex post - they just get flamed by a bunch of haters no matter what. So this is not good news & it came out later than it possibly should - oh well - better to release it in a good shape than to release it with issues. I think more support & positivity is needed on the forums, so that when there really is a problem Jagex may take more notice rather than people complaining all the time.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed the hypocrisy here.

I'm just as disappointed as the next player, but better to delay content until it's ready than to release it with known bugs. Granted I'm sure there will still be some kinks post-release as usual, but at least this shows that they actually make the effort to fix what they're aware of.

And to those of you crying about "THIS NOTIFICATION CAME TOO LATE WHY LEAVE US IN THE DARK!?!?" ...Two things. First, they very well could have left us in the dark completely. It's happened more than a few times in the past when delays have occurred. The fact of the matter is that they were likely working their asses off all day trying to get this update out on schedule and eventually reached that point of realization that it just wouldn't be possible. The bugs probably took longer to isolate and fix than anticipated, or the fixes caused other issues to spring up... Programming is not an easy thing, especially when working on something as large as RuneScape. Second, if your top priority in life is to wait for an update to an online game... Consider finding a secondary hobby. Read a book. Do school work. The update will be out when it's out regardless of how long you spend browsing the forums waiting for that all-so-special system update post. You're wasting your own time and patience and then get upset with the developers when there's a delay. Delays happen. Be glad the update will be ready in "a day or so" as opposed to an entire week or longer, as has happened in the past.
