Even if you didn't check the forums before you had this problem, in the news topics on the FRONT PAGE (when the skull came out that is) it clearly states which stores are eligible and specifically in which countries. So either you can't read or chose to read the first 4 lines and didn't bother looking at the rest...

Yea, i guess i forgot, they wouldn't list them to help people FIND stores that sell them, only post the one(s) that get KickBacks from them, who cares about the hundreds of thousands that waste their money on subscriptions every month? I mean, a card from 7-Eleven is obviously not as good, and a credit card payment is outta the question! -.-

Of course it is, Jagex is a BUSINESS, don't forget that. They're trying to get as many members as possible. The stores that you can get the flaming skull from would sponsor them and if they didn't list the stores there would be even more people flaming about this, more intelligent people who do read. Not getting a cosmetic item is hardly a reason to quit, is it?

But why not allow ALL 90-Day memberships made by ANY payment eligable for the skull? Runescape doesn't get any extra from making people go to GameStop, If anything people wouldn't get their membership BECAUSE they would have to go to GameStop? And Jagex SHOULD list stores that the cards are available at, so people can FIND them! IF they are going to place restrictions on where it is eligible from, MAKE IT KNOWN AND BOLD so people don't think that they are just simply trying to help by letting them know of places that sell the cards???
And I would say yes, I think wasting $22USD on an item (that already doesn't even really exist) and NOT even getting that FAKE item, is screwed up! RuneScape says they ban people that 'scam' others in game of the FAKE gold,
A 'scam' is getting another person to give you gold/items by using trickery, making them think one thing, but it isn't really true,
What RuneScape just did by NOT listing specifically stating on the FRONT PAGE IS A SCAM.

Okay,
1. Runescape does get something by making people go to Gamestop, as i said in my previous post, they most likely have an agreement with Gamestop or EB Games etc. that they pay Jagex so that Flaming Skulls are exclusively obtained from Gamestop etc. membership cards.
2.They did list the places where you can get the Flaming Skulls from the membership from, both at the start of this thread and on the news post. EDIT: It will be known to anyone who actually reads the post, it was one of the only things mentioned in the post as the other content just mentions what the flaming skull is.
3. What Jagex did was not a scam in the slightest, it's like a contract with fine print. It was in there, people just didn't read it. If the item is just virtual, don't buy the membership. Where i am from i can't even get the 90 day membership card and to be honest, i couldn't care less about it.

Bud, 'A contract with fine print' IS a SCAM...
It's what companies do in general, maybe not all of them, but most.
But it's O.K.
I emailed Jagex and they were very understanding, they gave me my skull.
