Well at least if we don't have an actual mod answering and replying to questions we have Vand! (even if he does sound suspiciously like a mod undercover! lol!)

Jagex, why not put all the card items into the loyalty shop also? Make it worth a ton of loyalty points if you must try and squeeze more money out of us.
It's not right to have exclusive items only available to select few.
At least if it was in the shop we could all have a chance at getting these things, even if it takes months.
I guarantee people would still be buying the cards to get the items right off and then everyone would be somewhat happy.

I returned to Game today, spoke to the manager. He says he is unable to order any 90 day membership cards and told me to buy online instead, which of course is already stated as not being acceptable. The manager wasn't even aware of this special Game RS Card promotion!
I called around several other game stores within an hours journey of mine, bearing in mind of the travelling fare of £5-£10 as well. But it's the same story. None of them are stocking the 90 day cards and cannot order them in.
With so many game stores closing and so many of the ones left not stocking the cards, why would Jagex put Game as the only participating retailer in the UK? Secondly, at least make sure Game stores are aware of the promotion so that they know to actually stock the cards!
I've had no trouble whatsoever getting any of the other special rs card items, but this one is proving impossible to get from the participating stockist Jagex has stated!

I think the real question here is: Does Jagex prefer Prepaid Membership Cards over Credit/debit/mail-in/phone?
But despite how you pay, I don't see why Jagex seems to favor the cards so much. The only reason I could come up with (and this is because I am involved in retail management) is that there aren't ENOUGH people buying the cards which leads to a waste of money for Jagex. In order to make up for that loss, they encourage potential players (or veterans) to buy the cards with promotional vanity items.
That's just an assumption though.
Other than that, I like the concept of making these items exclusive to Prepaid cards. Why? Because then there is a limited amount of people who have the item. For example, if EVERYONE had access to the Flaming Skull vanity item, it wouldn't be special anymore... cus everyone has one! I like the limitations to these items to only a select number of players because then when you see one in-game, you go "wow!" instead of "yeah I have that too and so do 1 million other players".
Now, you may not be "wowed" about the general idea, since many of you pay with credit/debit but lets be serious... The items wouldn't be as unique/cool/original/special if every single player with a membership had one. I can relate this to Holiday Event Items: they're cool for a few weeks but then their flares die down when all Runescape players have one, then they are stowed away with Diango to never be seen again.
***I for one, am purchasing the membership card to get this item.

I have the simplest and best idea... Just put the card items into the loyalty shop!!
Place a huge loyalty point on the items!
This will give EVERYONE a chance to save up for it AND still keep the item a "WOW" factor.
Those that buy the cards will get the benefit of having the item right off while everyone else can do the loyalty point thing.

I agree, incorporating vanity items and loyalty items is a pretty good idea.
@ Whiteberd, Did you purchase your 90 day card from one of the *select stores*? If you purchased the game-card at a store NOT offering the promotion, then you won't receive the flaming skull.

I think Iv'e held this in for a bit too long.
I'm not much of a forums guy as I Co-own RuneHints fan-site that takes most of my time. But every time I see these 90 day subscription items, I get highly offended. I subscribe monthly on 6 accounts, yes 6 ACCOUNTS, for my household. I have been a devout subscriber since I can remember. I pay more money a month then it costs to play wow (but who would want to play wow anyhow.) Why is it then, that people that buy the membership cards get these items, and not people that auto-pay with a subscription on their credit/Debit cards? Why are the loyal singled out to give an advantage to a person that pays more once. What happened to your sense of loyalty to us Jagex? All about the players right? now your basically saying, pay more get more. and that just seems a bit selfish. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of exclusive items to the players. but when it comes to affording these 3 month cards every month just to obtain a new item. that's asking a bit too much. I think all of these items, and previous items, should be available to subscribers that have been a member for 3 months prior to the release of the exclusive items, as well as available to those that purchase a 3 month card. Seems a bit like favoritism and if you don't see where I'm coming from, then you have obviously lost your sense of loyalty and reward to those of us that have been around for a long ass time.
