Thanks for this article, fantastic BTS! I was taking a break from RS and was on the edge as to whether to return or not. But this article has convinced me that it's time to end my break. End my break and leave RS behind, peace.

To be honest I do not know why so many people are not pleased. One update is better than no update. At least we could say thank you to those who put their effort together to make all of this happen. If people remember correctly, A J mod, I think it was Mod Osborne or Mark, Have said they have made a lot of quests in the previous months, And are going to release all of them right after Runescape 3. Just be patient, not all BTS will be like this.

Wow, two whole updates: A low level quest which will probably take sub 1 hour to complete and a boss that probably has such generous drops as a rune platebody, a couple noted rocktails or maybe if we're really lucky a dragon chainbody. Expect to see scores of duoers a week or two after release if the junk drops aren't suitably worthwhile to make risking your bank worth it.

If you want people to resubscribe, this is not the way to go about it.

Hey, gonna let you finish, but how about waiting for the content first?
We know their track record with bosses. It's Mod Chris L, so I guess I shouldn't be that skeptical, but Runescape's drop system is so messed up regarding what level monster drops what level gear. The lack of standardised gear above level 50 is part of the issue, but also that Jagex seems to have the insane idea that bosses should have a 1/100 chance of being profitable rather than being difficult to kill and netting a decent reward for your time and effort.

Nothing kills the motivation to try a new boss like the first three kills being piles of sharks.

I have to say I agree about the drop mechanic. As a non-hardcore player when I can actually have time to spend a solid hour or two playing I want to do something that is both fun and also advances my character or is profitable - rather than killing in Godwars for an hour and getting nothing.... That makes me want to go to Ganodermics instead if I fancy earning a few gp and xp through combat - which is actually quite boring slaying really.

"First sixth age quest" they said. At one point I despise low level quests, I have 80+ in all skills and nothing to challenge me irks me.

EDIT: At least Vorago appears to present a challenge. I hope they do something about group loot.

"We have literally doubled the size of the RuneScape team, and we are making massive investments in technology and improved support", Mod MMG. If you "literally doubled" the development team then why the pace of updates has been reduced to less than 10% to when the development team was 2x smaller?

I noticed that the last 3 months's BTSs have been much smaller and you could notice a heavy quality drop on the updates.

Most likely because they are focused on making RS3 a successful launch. they doubled the team, but the team is working on future stuff.
Time to follow an trail of Treasure.
