This is completely stupid, why do you keep making new versions of runescape.... Runescape used to be a great game, by making new versions your decreasing ammount of players. Seriously, i thought the coming of eoc was the last update you'd do. Tens of thousands quit due to it, and now your releasing rs 3?! when will you ever learn jagex! I've playin this game since 2005, i seriously know *etter than you mods, you think your improving the game. Look at the state of it. In 2006 the population of runescape hit 200k players D A I L Y. Today we're struggling to get 100k players. Look at the game, your R U I N I N G it. You think upgrading it will help it become a better game, the whole point of rs is the fun of pking and olden medieval times. I might aswell go play World of Warcraft, if you do this stupid RS 3, i might aswell play W O W. It's much better than runescape if your going to "modernise" it. So i advice you, stop ruining runescape. We like it how it is. Just stop it. And to all you new comers of J-Mods, please you dont know how runescape works, you think you know best. The majority of rs players like it as it is now. Just S T O P ........... M A K I N G .... U P D A T E S ......!

There are never going to stop making updates. Regular updates are one of the main selling points of the game.

Unfortunately I am still upset about the bronze, silver, and gold membership program. Yes I understand you get a bunch of extra stuff like runecoins, spins and outfits, but what about the members who have held membership for so long?

I am extremely excited for this update, but find it unfair that RS is only releasing it early to members with gold and silver. I do understand that early releases were outlined in those packages. When they were running the basic servers for EOC way way back when, they only let a few members test it out, the ticket into those Beta servers were given to members who had held membership for a long time. Lady Binks(a family member who plays) and I have been members constantly since 2005(and other members for as long or longer), with no break in our membership payments. Therefore we still only pay $5 a month, and why pay extra for early releases when we have payed constantly for so long?

I still believe that it is highly unfair that they would pass up their long time LOYAL paying members like they plan to do with this release and future releases. I feel that over the past couple years, Runescape has lost their way when dealing with Longtime Loyal Members. I cannot tell you how many of my friends I saw coming back to runescape upon the release of 07scape especially after the release of EOC, where a good amount of the Runescape community completely rejected the update not only DURING the beta server pre-release, but even after the official update, myself and Binky included.

And Runescape producers wonders why its losing so many of its Longtime Loyal Members, well here is your answer! If Runescape producers and developers plan to offer early releases to gold and silver memberships, they should offer it to their Longtime Loyal Members as well. Otherwise they should not offer early releases at all. It is, in my opinion, a disrespect to those of us who have been playing the game for a very long time. Please consider this carefully.

This update looks very, very cool, but you guys told us that the HTML5 update was not a part of the Runescape 3 update, you told us this in the live stream when you first mentioned Runescape 3.

The update from Runescape (Classic) to Runescape 2 changed the graphics, the interface, the combat, the way we skill, the way get we around the map. The Runescape 2 update changed the engine and everything.
The RS-HD update in 2008 and the EoC update were more Runescape 3 changes than this HTML5 update that just moderately changes the interface and gives us a longer view distance.

As I said, this HTML5 update looks very interesting, but it is not a big enough change to call it Runescape 3. If you released the 2008 RS-HD update and the EoC as one update, that would be Runescape 3, but not this.

Is there any other content that comes with this HTML5 update that you are not telling us, Jagex? :P

When entering Ols School RS I was amazed how spacious it looked. Compared to that current RS looks cramped. I really like the graphical improvements (like the trees), but it would be awesome if some of that spaciousness would return in Runescape 3!
Looking for an evil tree? Tree Hunters is the place to be! :)

- Do I need to use the HTML5 client to experience RS3?
No, you can use the java client (including downloadable client) to get the other benefits and content. However the graphic & performance improvements do require the HTML5 client. Both the HTML5 and Java clients connect to the same servers; there aren't separate worlds.

When you say this, are you implying that there will be a downloadable client for the HTML5 version of RS3 or will I have to play it in my Chrome browser?
Thats cute

@Shaunmcfc I completely agree that it is about the money 100%, but I'd bet they lots a ton of money when they released EOC with the sheer number of members who quit when it was released. There is only so far you can go up the hill to make money, before you reach the top and start going back down and losing money. They just need to understand that if they push too much it is going to cost them a pretty penny and the only one to blame is themselves. Been here since 05' and going to keep on rockin!
