Quite some months ago I had a suggestion thread up on the forums (it unfortunately didn't grow big and it eventually died), but it basically suggested a vast peninsula added to the north west of the Priffnidas rich in unique resources for fishers, slayers, miners, smithers, crafters and boss hunters, but very dangerous (high level monsters patrolling the entire area, complete absence of magic, disallowing a quick teleport out and extreme weather conditions). Survival was supposedly just as important as gathering the resources.


If you are interested in it, I could try to remake the thread.

EDIT: For clarification, this would be higher end dangerous content Sometimes, less is more.

The wording on the news post has me a bit confused. Will I be able to play on normal servers, (world 2, world 60, my home world etc) on these beta clients, or will i be restricted to some HTML5 server that works beside the current java servers?

I understand the alpha HTML5 servers are separate to test a upcoming feature, but the normal beta servers need clarifications.

Any idea when f2p will be allowed to access the beta? i've checked the FAQ. It doesn't say a date.

It doesn't say a date because I don't think F2Pers will get to access the beta. They did in the last beta, so it's at least a possibility.

Also, RS3 FTW!!! Can't wait to be able to see the Dominion Tower from Al-Kharid! Or the Slayer Tower from Canafis... Or even the Wizard's Tower from Draynor (wow that would be a sight).

Lastly, what about people who bought the Gold Premium package but don't have the specs on their computer to run it? Cause if there is no alternative that would be a fairly large waste of money...

So rs3 requires webgl this means you are going to have a lot of very unhappy players.

Webgl is not available on any graphics card with a driver older than Jan 2009, there is a full list on the khronos website, and if your graphics card is an integrated one you don't even have the option of replacing the card.

You will need to buy a new machine.

The option to upgrade the driver doesn't exist in many cases, as it does in mine, either because of discontinued support. or it is a bastardised version of an intel driver which is often the case with integrated graphics cards.

What, if anything, are you going to do for players in this situation?

I am a gold member and I live in Texas - I have the same question about the client as others have already asked - will we have access to Beta, or to the new version, ever?

I also don't like chrome and it was hard to remove - maybe my computer isn't up to specs for it and I can't afford a new one.

I started playing RS because it had skills, not just killing. I've checked out other games and none I can find have the skills variety that RS has - that's what made it special to me. Since then all the xp bonus from sof lamps and pendants and jack of trades aura and daily challenges keep me busy if I choose to be directed by them. I don't want harder and harder quests or killing, I don't like killing. THat's me. But all the things that direct my play unless I'm disciplined enough to stick to my goals and forego all the bonus xp has been spoiling my game some.

I have been really enjoying OSR for these reasons. But I still want to play regular rs.

Please let me know about the client aspect of the Beta and new version. Thanks.
