How to increase difficulty gradually? Alright. Two quick ones.

First of all, do away with hubs and lodestones entirely. Make more respawn area rewards or default respawn choices (quests, achievement diaries, etc) instead and allow magic teleports to do their job (this will also make law runes more useful).

Secondly, eliminate gravestones. Keep the same item-retention mechanics (3 items of your choosing + minor items). Or, if you feel gravestones must be kept, the duration on all gravestones should decrease with your combat level. This would allow new players time to familiarize themselves with RuneScape combat, but the more you've experienced RuneScape combat the less excuse you have to run in to an unknown situation (or even a known situation) without caution. I know that losing gear can be painful (it's happened to me), but it also allows for items to exit the game so they can retain their value better. 15 mins is overkill to get back to your gravestone (and blessing graves makes it virtually impossible to not get back on time). There should be a sense of urgency to get back to your grave. Player death should be more than a minor inconvenience.

Remove Soloman and SOF.
I truly believe that micro-transactions are necessary to keep this game running, and competative in today's gaming market. It may not be what we like, but I believe it is necessary. All other games have micro transactions. These are the games that rs is competing with. Except with rs its more fair and mostly cosmetic.

Wow that sounds very diffecult and exiting.
I use runes instead of lodestones or just take a boring walk.

No sorry, I like the lodestones. :)

Cant wait for this beta. It will look so awesome I cant wait to see this in live game even if it is on live servers. Wish I could of gotten gold member so I get in right away but I hope I get in like I did for the eoc . Also lets hope it does not lag a lot like when the first beta arrived. This is going to be my favorite update for 2013 by far. Nice work and keep it up.

I hope it doesn't end up like the EoC beta.
Releasing it when it's nowhere near finished and making the game a forced live beta.

To be honest,
I still have the feeling that the game is a Beta. :)

<----------- has had reoccurring membership since 05, doesnt get first crack at beta because I didnt want anything to do with squeal of fortune. So this is how they treat loyalty.

I feel you, they're catering to the babies and not the loyal players, just like always
