"private servers" do not protect you against viruses, keylogs, and other hacks. When you go to a "private server", you are taking your chances and such things.

Jagex must pay extra money to make sure such things don't happen. That is why it costs more money then it costs to run those "private servers". Any serious company protects its customers.

"Private servers" are not serious cause they don't protect you and you use them at your own risk.

This sounds like a great opportunity. I've been playing since 2004, but I've largely quit since Squeal of Fortune and other garbage began to come out.

My concern is the requirements for the highest two options. I've looked at the hiscores, and I've reasonably estimated by looking at skill total that there are MAYBE 600,000 paying members at the moment and many of those are simply bots. The 50k mark is within reasonable reach, but the 250k mark is just out of reasonable reach. The 500k and 750k marks aren't even in actual reach.

Making the vote members only is simply a cash grab to get people to buy a month of members. I don't know if I'm personally willing to pay for membership this month just to vote in a poll.

However, one thing about this that I've very pleased with is that you're having everyone start over. A critical problem with the current game is that everyone is far too high leveled and has far too much money. I have a screenshot from October 2007 when I got 99 Firemaking and not even 5000 people had made it there before. Looking at the hiscores today shows that over 80000 current paying members have hit that mark, not to mention several thousand others like myself that no longer appear on the hiscores due to being free to play.

Scape, this is why I continued paying membership, because even though you have support for the EoC a large quantity of real players quit when it was released. To get them back, you'd be forced into this very predicament that we are presented with now. Thank you for realizing that we'd start fresh in a new game, made the way most of us enjoyed it. We will willingly pay extra for this game content. JaGeX I love you again.
