As much as I would love an update that would allow me to redo my favorite things, the huge number of votes to make it worth my money (because an extra 15 a month is ludicrous) makes this a near impossibility. The fact is this is 3 months too late. Most of the veterans have left and are not ever coming back.
I personally only noticed this because I saw 2007- Old School Rune on the toolbar. My group of friends (25 including me) have all 100% quit this game and I am sure there is many groups in a similar situation.
Jagex, you ruined this games community with EOC. You made them all leave, the only people who were actually willing to help beginners and not be complete a-holes to people were the vets of this game. But it's too late now, I am glad you had this idea to milk some quick cash out of those who still hope it will come back. Teach people that you really are just looking for money.
I have been playing since 02 and I had fun throughout it all. Starting in 08 I took a few breaks from weeks to years long. And every time I came back the community had slowly diminished. With scams like doubling spawning from no-where and you doing nothing about one of the most obvious scams in the game, even after years of it's existence. I thought that the game was starting to die, and unfortunetly I was correct.
The only people I ever ran into that talked to/helped others was at the GE. And for about 2 years I bank stood, because my account had reached 2100 total level, my goal, and I just wanted to get on and chat with people on this game. But eventually I had to go to a 1500 world just to find people who didn't beg or scam or gamble. Then the EOC came out and I tried it for about a week, it didn't bother me because I was done "playing" the game. I was still paying for membership because I thought I could help renew the dying community. I was wrong, I became the only one trying to chat and I was the only one answering people's pleas for help.
I wont be coming back.
