People that are saying how sucky 2007 was and current updates and graphics are good/EOC etc...why are you guys on this thread then? 2007 was a much different kind of game; right down to evil chicken randoms to blast away people who were botting and tree ents to break bots' axes for wc.

This is great! I was just talking to my friend about the "good old days" on runescape! I believe that if the community spreads the word about this to retired members, they will come back and fall in love with runescape all over again! And consider trying the new update as well. This will be a great come back. I hope people vote! I'm afraid that they won't precipitate because of the worry of paying the extra cash, which most of us don't have. Maybe work something out on not having us not pay as much or not at all please , if you do I'm sure you'll reach your goal of success and more memberships, leaving you with more pay. I know it's a big risk but I'm certain of it.

Sincerely,
I Am Kelsey

There are a few flaws with the restoration of RS '07, but overall I think it would be worth it to tough it out, start anew, and enjoy the game as it was in 2007. Personally, the game isn't enjoyable enough to even consider paying for membership, so my account is sitting around collecting dust anyway. Even if I had to start all over, I would get some form of enjoyment out of playing RuneScape as it was when I was first introduced to it. Since I neither pay for membership nor bother to log into free worlds anymore, it seems worth it (at a reasonable fee) to put in my two cents and have the 2007 gameplay implemented separately. There might not be nearly as much content available as there is now, but RuneScape has come a long way, and all games change as time progresses (for better or worse). I'd much rather count my blessings and be glad that a poll was released than pout and bicker because the only near-functional version to be recovered was one that had imperfections. There will always be aspects of a game that people don't like, but overall I do believe that the pros outweigh the cons. And yes, Jagex might be trying to milk money out of its players, but it's a business - that's what businesses do. Many of the people trying to nitpick on forums aren't grateful that at least a chance to restore the old servers was made available to them. Some of them have good points, some do not. I signed a petition asking to restore any pre-EoC server regardless of year and now it's become a possibility. For that, I'm glad the opportunity is at least being extended to those elligible to vote despite some aspects that are inconvenient. With any luck, there will be a proficient amount of members that vote for RS '07's release.

To any members, even those in opposition to the old edition of RuneScape, I ask that you please vote in favor of it. Voting will have no adverse effect on you nor will it have an adverse effect on the main game (current RS).

As most people on the forums are aware, people have been requesting 2004-2008 servers a while now, even before Evolution of combat, but making a 2007 server and splitting the community is just insane, I can even understand to a degree if the servers are fully funded by the people who want them, but why do the rest of us have to pay the price because they can't learn to adjust?

If this poll is anything like the return of the wildy and free trade poll, it will be rigged more than a Blue Peter competition, meaning that it will likely have a largish team of devs maintaining the servers, has it really come to this? Have WE really got to listen to the people that want to stop the game progressing? Like said by Mod Mod Mark, if you don't like change why play a game that updates so frequently?

I've played RuneScape since late 2004 and I tried RSC a bit, I've enjoyed pretty much all the time I spent playing RS2, and even the trade limit (which I hated at the time), had it's advantages which I didn't fully appreciate at the time, aka the massive reduction of gold farmers.

If people truly do care about RuneScape please act rationally when voting, Do you want to try and re-live memories that are long gone? Or take part in experiencing one of the most updated MMORPG games and all it has to offer?

I don't think what I say will change anyone's mind that is dead set on getting 2007 servers, but at the very least I can give a somewhat counter argument, the all those who are saying it's amazing on personal *accounts/memories not facts

*not as in RuneScape account, accounts as an event or experience

~ Also a Honorable mention, I believe a while back you yourself said Mod MMG that the reason that RuneScape for console may not be possible is it could split the community, this is exactly what 2007 servers will do, so does this mean we're more likely to see RuneScape for Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo consoles/handhelds? ~

I won't be voting for it. Old Runescape was no better than the current one is. There is no reason to waste time and resources to try and satisfy people who whine and complain for the sake of whining and complaining.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
It's not whining if we are asking to have old game back that we are used to play for the years. Also it's not waste of time and resources since they're not updating the game. Also they got a lot of people working for the game. Your comment made me laugh, typical 12 years old logic.

I have no idea if I've read it right or wrong, but please re-explain it to me in a matured way...

So if this do get implemented the fee will actually go up to $15/month? That's like 10-11 dollars extra for me considering I pay $4/month on my other account and $5/month on this.

I am deffinately voting for '07 to come back because I've had so much fun and now I'm only on 30mins-1hour/day (even if everyday) just because I do not find it that fun anymore, but if the fee's are going up then I might reconsider :S

Now as I said, I might have gotten it wrong so please anyone (players or JMods) re-explain in a nice and common sense :D

I recently just cancelled my other accounts membership because I felt like wasting money on a game I rarely log in on (just had it to collect LP points), but will be happy re-subscribe on it if it helps :o

Thanks in advance,

^ @Reiha: If you played on an old-school server, your current membership would increase by 15/5/0 dollars (depending on the level of support).

I like that you are considering this, but honestly, I don't see much point.

However, it would make quite a few people happy, and it would help to support both games.

On a side note, I'd rather have these forums finally re-vamped (a real reply system, voting, sigs (even if just 1 line of text), making text bold/italic, etc).
