Starting from scratch in rs2007 will be one of the most invigorating things to ever happen to Runescape. It's only happened once before. And that was the beginning of Ruenscape Classic back in 2001. Even when Classic was reopened, it wasn't a true restart. There were plenty of players will old accounts that still had skills and items in Classic.

But a clean slate is going to be very appealing to a wide range of players. It's a chance to get atop the leaderboard. How daunting must it be for a new player to join the game today and see a player on the highscores with over 4b experience? What hope can they possibly have of ever achieving stardom? Some players already have a 12-year advantage on them!

With a fresh start, the competition for resources and ranks is going to be crazy, intense, and fun. There will be actual reasons for training skills again. It will be profitable. Resources and items will be scarce, and those with the ability to attain them with have true power and influence. A real economy with be born.

I truly believe that this will provide a huge jolt of life to the game. I know many people think that starting from scratch will be a big deterrent, but I think it will prove otherwise. Let's hope for the best. See you all in 07!

How about reading the FAQ before blindly posting on the forums to ask a ridiculous and obvious question. It shouldn't even need to be addressed. Use common sense please.... Obviously they're not going to transfer accounts. The economy would be terrible to the point where the game would be impossible to get items

We must get 750,000 votes there’s no other choice! Please read and you’ll understand exactly why everyone must vote even if this update doesn’t concern them.

There are a lot of misconceptions about what this update will provide; it’s in no way shape or form removing any features of the Current RuneScape. Both games are completely separate. There will be a separate leader board system, forums, and communication between both game servers.

There’s a large array of differences between these games and it’s worth your vote to experience what this game use to be.

Imagine always 50 fps regardless of your computer’s available hardware.

Imagine crisp clean gameplay, actions always instant regardless of anything which would normally slow them down.

This game has allowed every kind of person to enjoy it, with the Current RuneScape if you can’t afford the latest hardware; you aren’t going to be able to enjoy the game.

There’s a huge community of non member’s who have played for years that would love to vote, but simply can’t. Alongside that we have a large base of those who have quit after the 2007/2008 updates. This is where most of the votes would be, but they just can’t vote within this poll.

This is why we need your help to bring back this game in its fullest. You’re probably thinking it already has 50,000 votes so it’s coming back why vote anymore? That’s just it without 750,000 votes there’s 2 key features* that will never be implemented!

1. FREE non paying players will be given FREE worlds just for them; this means they’ll never have to pay for membership to play this version of the game.

2. Dedicated support team, unlike the other tiers this one provide a dedicated team to help aid in content and technical updates which will be very much needed.

So, look by not voting you’re taking away memories that can be created for new and old players, so please don’t be selfish and VOTE! Even if this update isn’t of your concern you’ll be making millions of people happy.

im a veteran player myself, and to all of you players that posted and tryed to get old rs back only to get blind sided and sucker punched by a unrealistic voting poll and some FAQ's that just let all your hopes down i feel for you all, i barely been on the forums for 1 hour and can see a split community and it seems jagex dosent give a **** about 1 half. I really truly feel for you guys who worked so hard in the past and tryed so hard to get this game back or at least a part of it only to be let down by some FAQ's and a voting poll thats unrealistic with $$$$ signs all over it.

I dont mind at all going back and starting over. The challenge makes it more fun. Its not like we would lose what we have in the current version of rs. We can still play that if we chose. And why would people not vote for it?...if they dont want to participate, they dont have to and they'd be rid of the people who hate EOC...(like me)... I really hope this happens, I'm so looking forward to it.

Believe me I understand where you are going with your thoughts, but I can assure you that money isn't there top priority with this poll.

Looking at what has happened today, yesterday and right before the poll launched. We can clearly see the main focus was to prove to everyone that the 2006/2007 servers aren't what the majority of RuneScape wanted. They've went about this entire poll completely wrong.

1. They barely advertised before the poll launched in fact, it launched less than 24 hours after the announcement for it.

2. They only allowed members to vote, this isn't nearly the portion of RuneScape who want this too come out. There's a huge amount of non members who have never payed for membership and a large crowd of those who have quit between 2007 and 2009.

3. They provide numbers of 8.6 million active users in the last two weeks, but forgot to mention that this number decreases when you take into account certain factors. Non members, Gold farmers, player's who have never played 2007 RuneScape. We are probably left with maybe 10% of that physical number resulting in probably only 860,000 potential votes.

4. They didn't give anyone new players a full understanding on what the Old RuneScape really offered, I'd love to explain it, but it's far too much to fit in only 2,000 characters.


Had they done the below I can guarantee that they would have reached well over 1,000,000 votes.

1. Provided a full length video explaining exactly the features provided within this game, what's to be expected, and some follow up tip's.

2. Allowed non members who met certain criteria to vote. They wouldn't even allow players who have all non member stats at 99 and are completely active every single day to vote.

By doing the poll this way they have basically rigged the results to lie to the community that their game is still strong, and that 2007 RuneScape isn't wanted enough to receive the needed maintenance.

PLEASE EVERYONE JUST VOTE!!!

You do realize everyone is reset. Had you actually read the main thread you would have found some useful information.

This is why many players are receiving invalid information they aren't reading the post adequately.

1. This vote is NOT to convert Current RuneScape into 2007 RuneScape. This is a vote on weather to bring back this version as a seperate game, and how much support / features it'll be given.

2. This is not going to affect the current RuneScape in any way shape or form. This is a completely seperate game, but they will be allowing you to communicate through friends chat between the two games.

3. Everyone's account will be completely fresh, everyone will be level 3 and have all stats at level 1 with 10 hitpoints. Damage before the 10X damage was introduced and no 10X skills like 990 constitution or Prayer. It's now maximum of 99 and Combat is maximum of 126. Summoning and Dungeonerring will not exist either and there will be the old graphics and no GE or any other RWT updates which influence the game a lot.

4. That there was 8.6 Million active users ready to vote for this. This misconception is the worst. They failed to mention that this is there full active player base in the last two weeks and that majority of these are likely to be FREE players, Gold Farmers, New Players after the Graphic Improvements, and misinformed players. There is probably less than 10% of potential votes. Not to mention, very little announcements resulting in probably only 5% of this number who actually vote. 5% of 8.6 Million is only 430,000 votes. This is around where I believe the value will reach unless the current members can realize why they should vote.
