We must get 750,000 votes there’s no other choice! Please read and you’ll understand exactly why everyone must vote even if this update doesn’t concern them.

There are a lot of misconceptions about what this update will provide; it’s in no way shape or form removing any features of the Current RuneScape. Both games are completely separate. There will be a separate leader board system, forums, and communication between both game servers.

There’s a large array of differences between these games and it’s worth your vote to experience what this game use to be.

Imagine always 50 fps regardless of your computer’s available hardware.

Imagine crisp clean gameplay, actions always instant regardless of anything which would normally slow them down.

This game has allowed every kind of person to enjoy it, with the Current RuneScape if you can’t afford the latest hardware; you aren’t going to be able to enjoy the game.

There’s a huge community of non member’s who have played for years that would love to vote, but simply can’t. Alongside that we have a large base of those who have quit after the 2007/2008 updates. This is where most of the votes would be, but they just can’t vote within this poll.

This is why we need your help to bring back this game in its fullest. You’re probably thinking it already has 50,000 votes so it’s coming back why vote anymore? That’s just it without 750,000 votes there’s 2 key features’ that will never be implemented!

1. FREE non paying players will be given FREE worlds just for them; this means they’ll never have to pay for membership to play this version of the game.

2. Dedicated support team, unlike the other tiers this one provide a dedicated team to help aid in content and technical updates which will be very much needed.

So, look by not voting you’re taking away memories that can be created for new and old players, so please don’t be selfish and VOTE! Even if this update isn’t of your concern you’ll be making millions of people happy.

I don't and won't play your EOC. Firstly you made the vote members only when I have been playing your game and a paying member prior to EOC for over 10 years, why can't I vote when I would pay. (you wanted the god knows how much money for people to pay one months members)

But the biggest kick in the balls is the fact your going to force me into paying for a membership fee to a game I don't even want to play(current version of runescape). Are you really telling me there will be no way just to pay for the oldschool server? People like me that have wanted the old game back since EOC and haven't been listened to for years will now be forced to pay for a game thats a clone of WOW but 10x worst.

I get the feeling your not here to "listen to the people" but more set out to try to prove nobody wants pre-EOC servers by rigging your own poll so long serving paying players who refuse to play or pay for EOC to vote, pricing people out and making them also pay for something they won't even touch.

I really think you have hit an all time low jagex..

might consider possibly returning to the game if the vote goes through. can see it being swarmed by bots though, I'm against the f2p access to the game though, it opens up pre-levelled f2p bots too much.

I do hope to see the return of the tutorial island as well.

The appeal of the old game is very promising. Back in August 2007, there was no Grand Exchange. You had to work a lot harder to level up your stats. And for that reason, I think everyone starting fresh at Level 3 is a very fair option. A 99 in the game today, would probably be a lot easier to achieve than what it was back then. So it really makes no sense for main game stats to be transferred over, at least in my opinion anyway.

This will give everyone a new challenge, and the vibe will be great knowing that everyone begins with the same stats at the same time. There is sure to be a competitive nature, as progressing in the game will be more of a task. And if you don't want to play the 2007 RS, then you don't have to. If you're happy with the main game, stick with it. Just don't vote, or just vote anyway for your friends that really want it back.

We need 750,000 Votes, but after gathering and analyzing the provided details in the main thread it's become quite apparent that it would never be obtainable for the below reasons.

We were told that there are 8,229,459 unique accounts logged in the last two weeks. This was implying that there was potential for over 8 million players to vote and by setting the mark at 750,000 they were only requesting less than 10% of the active population to vote.

This is invalid and here's exactly why! This 8,229,459 number include the following problematic areas.

1. Non members who probably make up a large portion of their player base.
2. Gold Farmers who will have anywhere from 5 through 30 accounts or more each. This makes up a large portion that I wouldn't have any real numbers for, but as you can see it's a huge impact.
3. Player who have never played 2007 RuneScape or any version close to this time period and have no real care for this poll.
4. Player's who have been misinformed due to Jagex's poor way of presenting this poll. Feeding the players false or inadequate information.
5. Rushed poll, with very minimal advertisements or announcements for it.

If the above doesn't seem like much to you let me try to simulate some example numbers.

Lets say that 40% of their community are non members.
Lets say that 20% of their community are Gold Farmers or Bots who's only desire it to harvest gold.
Lets say that 10% of their community are players who have zero interest in any of this.

This is 70% of that physical number who will not vote. This leave us with 2,468,837 potential voters, but now we have another big issue.

Jagex failed to fully explain everything so everyone is being misinformed and thinking all kinds of crazy things. Read many of the first posts and you'll see..

We can now safely assume only 25% of the 30% will actually vote resulting in only 617,209 potential votes. Then poor annoucements results in probably 75% of this number over time.

Only 462,907 Votes.
