This is truly brilliant. I am glad that you guys have answered our cries!
I just have one quick question:
If everyone has to start fresh, don't you think that may thwart some veteran players to actually play it? Don't get me wrong I'm absolutely elated that we have a chance for this as i have played back then (even though my skills may not show it) casually and I enjoyed it extremely. But even though you are bringing it back, its a bit hard to just let years of work and gameplay just to evaporate into thin air, and many veteran players who have many maxed level skills may not want to go back and start fresh due to hours upon hours of grinding to get those skills back.

Jagex, I have been playing RS from 2004 to 2011; and after the GE it has changed a lot. Then I Quit.. This version was exactly the best time of RS for me. 100% sure that I support this poll! Say hi to your free month of membership Jagex just for voting!

It will be beyond any experience I have had since, Although the development of the game has gone great lengths. The "Old School Runescape" fits my clear description of what I originally came to love most in this game.

Honestly starting over may suck at first but if you think about the damage done by bots over time you'll realize that with every single player starting from scratch the game will be extremely fun especially when the wild will be a main source of cash and skilling and slayer and clue scrolls and all those great things will be extremely important for everyone in the game again. Think about it too your first rare drop will be such a great moment since there are so little of them that one rare drop will lead to instantaneous fortune. Kalphite Queen here I come cause people are going to need some D chains. Plus think about it they'll be so many people in the wild and so many people redoing quests it will be so much fun. I lost everything too and I'm not going to lie between all my accounts I had about 100m and another 50m in items. IDC ill give it all up to get rid of that garbage EoC game. It took me 5 hours to get from 1-30 range in EoC on a new character..... would've done that in 5 minutes on original runescape. EoC = garbage.

I hope everyone realize that fresh start means fresh start. It won't be the same if we could get double exp or other silly things after 2007. No GE, no double exp, no SOF, no EOC, no nothing after 2007. No dragon claws, no god wars.

All the glory to abyssal whip and dragon dagger p++.

how can u get 750k player to vote yes.. ahahha that is kind of hard to do. Plus like they say, they dont have enough money to keep both old school runescape and the new combat evolution runescape running. i dont think this will happen, there doing this to get old player back so that they can make more cash. they know that people r slowly quitting runescape if they dont take any changes to the runescape future.


the old school player is want the combat style to be remove. if u guy r rolling back to 2007, that is kind of lame. from 2007-2011 there r tons of new armors, weapons, and future that want to keep us playing. it would be a bad idea to rollback to 2007.

Jagex has destined this to fail miserably.

When I hadn't played RSC, but was given the option to "start playing now, or never be able to", my current character transferred in, minus the skills that didn't exist in RSC.

Whee a RS2007 server - did you catch the part about starting over?

I think that was 35 gold, and a couple of bronze weapons and a small fishing net.

My account has played continuously since July 2004, why can't I be restored as I was in August 2007?

yes, I despise EOC and when my current goal is met, I do plan on quitting RS. Yes, I would love to play in the older days. No, I am not willing to redo all those quests, play thousands of Pest Control games again, just to get back to where I was in August 2007.

I started playing in Runescape over 8 years ago. There's been lots of high and lows. it keeps going back and forth. The new quests are awesome; so are the mini-games, but there's a limit to how far you can stray from originality. Special attacks brought weapons its uniqueness; I was really disappointed to see them gone. That was more disappointing than when player killing was removed. I don't like Dungeoneering, Hunter, and Summoning. I love how you guys are taking ideas and hints from players to what they want. I wouldn't be surprised if more people start playing this game again just from old memories. The majority of the players from 2007 have quit, and there's a whole new generation that hasn't experienced the good ol' days. I doubt this will get very many votes because not as many people play Runescape anymore... I remember when a server with 1200 people wasn't considered a lot, and worlds 1-7 were constantly full. I will personally Vote for it and spread the word.
